IMPLEMENTING 5S IN PRACTICALLY IN INDUSTRY As 5S are fundamental prerequisite for Japanese industrial methods, implementing them in a formal way was a major project, from the start of our unit. So the whole implementing process was divided into 5 phases. First Phase : Data collection (time study) of the existing on going processes in plant. Making a plan of layout of the plant. Matching the data with the layout of plant and find where there is need of making any changes in the layout As per the flaws in plant & solution of it makig a new revised plant layout, which increase plant productivity. Now starting implementing of 5s. Second Phase : Training managing staff The first training was given to managers, foremen and line leaders. In addition to the course, frequent visits on the shop floor revealed numerous examples of lack of order, tidiness, but dust, obsolete parts or documents still lying around... This was the moment to memorize initial status and kick-off improvement ideas. (In the same time we worked on 5S, we introduced KAIZEN spirit) Taking pictures to keep in mind original state, by collecting more pictures as project goes on, makes a nice before/after
consistent operational outcome of manufacturing facilities. The 5S system consists of “sort”, “straighten”, “shine”, “standardize” and “sustain”. Every production line in Macfood Services has own a team of HHP that consists of production line manager, executive, QA and maintenance engineer. I was assigned under production Line 6 and Line 7 HHP team.
This essay will analyze a case about implementing self-directed team into a new plant of RL Wolfe. In 2003, RL Wolfe had brought a small custom plastic factory in Corpus Christi called Moon Plastic. Amasi, the directer of Production and Engineering in RL Wolfe, decided to take this new plant as an experiment to implement self-directed team. Although this approach had only been proved to be effective in financial success in other industries. In order to make this new plant more productive, unlike the other two plants of RL Wolfe, it would be unionized.
They set big goals that they know they can accomplish with time, effort, and hard work (“Six Habits”). These goals they set for themselves allow
Secondly, you must attach the new action to a previous habit. Find a habit that you already have. Simply embellish on it to help you reach your goal. If you have a habit of going to sonic after school (like me), go to subway instead. If you give up working out after an hour, stay
By putting this recommendation into action now, I expect to become more connected to my coworkers, more visible to upper management, and more capable of making effective decisions in future leadership positions. Finally, my third change will be taking a more energetic approach to furthering my education, so I am able to have the skills I need to make effective decisions with the two-up, two-down approach in mind (Schmalz, 2015, np). In order to understand the goals and motivators of those above me, I need to learn more about their responsibilities and habits. Running Head: C200 TASK 2: LEADERSHIP ANALYSIS 11 “Leadership behavior stems from habitual neural pathways that are developed over time.

To develop objectives, you need to define the outcomes you and the patient expect from the teaching-learning process. Unlike goals, which are general and long-term, learning objectives are specific, attainable, measurable, and short-term. For example, for a newly diagnosed diabetic patient, the overall learning goal may be to learn how to maintain blood glucose levels between 70 and 150 mg/dl at all times. Reaching such a goal may be overwhelming unless it’s broken down into specific, short-term behavioral objectives that lead up to the overall goal. For this patient, an objective such as “After this session, the patient will be able to list five symptoms of hypoglycemic” is one step on the way to the larger goal.
In one of my courses, social organizational psychology, it shaded light on organizational behaviors. In the class, there are many theories to improve well-being of the people in organization. Organization structure – The whole activies are divided in the department and the responsibility and hirenchy of each department is well defined. However Senior management needs to be more focused on Strategic Initiative rather than Daily Operations .For this it is Important to develop a second Rung of Leadership. My Behavior Change Contract was about getting a regular running schedule. Writing my goals down helped me stick to the goal. I was good about keeping my schedule and going running everyday around the same time. It made me feel good to
LEADERSHIP Ogbeidi (2012) found that leadership is referred as “ability to lead, direct and organize a group”. Through this course I’ve learned skills of how to lead and work as a unit with others. Also through moving through the ranks and this past year being the Alpha Company commander with the rank of Cadet Captain I learned how to take responsibility of the actions and deeds of my unit and myself. It also helped me to see that being on the top of the food chain with many below you at your command isn’t all fun and games it entails things like knowing if your company’s data is all squared away and if everyone is up to date, if they all have uniforms and if not when will they get them, and if they have them are they wearing them correctly, who's going to promotion board are they ready is their uniform squared away and things like
