Ninth and Tenth Grade Fitness Analysis During the time that I have taken gym class as both a freshman and a sophomore, I have noticed a change in the scores between each of my four fitness tests. Starting with my ninth grade baseline test, I received 2,000 meters on the twelve minute run, 16 walls on the twelve minute swim, a time of 1:30 for the front plank, 1:15 for the superman, 1:24 for the wall sit, 38 crunches per minute for the crunch test, 10 push-ups for the push-up test, 75 pounds on the bench press, which equaled 50% of my body weight, and -3.5 inches on the sit-and-reach test. During my ninth grade post test, I received 2,200 meters on the twelve minute run, 20 walls on the twelve minute swim, 3:00 for the front plank, 3:00 for …show more content…
Firstly, between each baseline and post test for both my freshman and sophomore years, my test performance in each category improved or stayed in a steady state, as I was actively participating within my physical education class, partaking in exercises and workouts that helped to increase my muscular strength, stamina, and tone my entire body to become more physically fit as a whole. In addition, I made sure to exercise outside of school, by practicing core activities within my home, such as planking or doing crunches, and playing tennis or biking with my family and friends. Likewise, during the time between my ninth grade post test and tenth grade baseline, my scores decreased, as the rate at which I exercised slowed down during the Summer, when I did not have a physical education class to take. Although the frequency of how I stayed active helped to determine my performance on my four fitness tests, my personal attitude contributed a great deal to the change in my scores as well. During each of the two post tests, my scores largely improved or stayed the same in comparison to the baseline tests, as I now knew my physical limits, and I was motivated to do better and obtain a higher grades in each testing category. Another factor that enabled me to do better on the majority of my tests was my changed eating habits, as during the period of time that I was in gym class …show more content…
In the short term, during my remaining high school and college years, I plan to continue playing tennis as a sport for school (as well as recreationally in my free time). Additionally, I plan to continue practicing core activities, such as push-ups and crunches 4 -5 days a week for at least 10-15 minutes each day, and I plan to start jogging for 3-4 days a week, for 20-30 minutes each day. In the long term as an adult, I plan to continue this routine, and also start lifting weights 3-4 days out of each week, in order to maintain good muscular strength. I hope that by creating and pursuing these goals now, I will be able to maintain good physical fitness for my body, far into my life as an
The boys scores were a little more variable but increased from an average of 45.2 to 63.8 after 3 years. I did expect this trend because as you age, your body starts to mature more, and endurance increases due to body size and lean muscle mass Was performance linear—that is, did it improve by the same amount every year? What was the difference between year 1 and year 2 for both boys and girls, respectively? Between year 2 and year 3?

Physical education, exercise science, and sports professionals all play a significant role in getting students, clients, and players to meet the goals and objectives of Healthy People 2020 and The Surgeon General’s Vision for a Healthy and Fit Nation. Having a healthy lifestyle starts at an early phase in life. According to the text, “Adolescence is an important age for developing health habits that will persist into adulthood (79).” With that said, in order for them to have that healthy lifestyle they must become educated about the risks of inactivity as early as possible. Physical education is an “ongoing process of learning” that is incorporated in schools so that students learn to use that knowledge throughout their lives and also learn to enjoy doing it.
The emphasis placed on school sports in also not the problem in lower than desired test scores because “students who participated in vigorous sports did 10 percent better in Science, English, Math and Social Studies compared to other students (Gorman).” This disproves the myth that participation and emphasis on sports creates lower test scores, when in

The career choice that I have chosen is to become an athletic trainer. I love to play sports and be around sports, so I think that being an athletic trainer would be a good career for me. I like to help people and make an impact in other peoples life and becoming an athletic trainer would allow me to help people recover, start to feel better, and get back to what they have to do. There isn’t much better than doing a career that you enjoy and like to do plus making pretty good money doing it. I just feel that becoming an athletic trainer and doing it as a career would be the best fit for me.
Dear Editor, I am Writing to express my opinion on the issue of having physical education grades affect your total grade point average. Some may argue that children will take gym classes more seriously now that they know that their grade in that class will affect their overall grade. But if those students did not try before then they must not be students that will change their mind over a grade. People may also say that some children perform better in physical activities then in academics, but academics are always more important than sports. Even if you are a professional football player you are going to need some form of education to get into a good college or have a good job.
Furthermore, when I am motivated to work out, I enjoy running outside. I view the gym as a very reliable place to work out, but I also believe gym’s are boring and provide a disadvantage for athlete because the athletes do not become accustomed to the heat or the cold. Lastly, one thing that a lot of people like to do is to lift weights. I believe lifting weights can be an important activity in sports that are more physical, but I personally find lifting weights extremely boring. I perceive physical strength to be somewhat important, but one of the most important aspects of a sport that I see is

The best part of sports is that you can improve major parts of your life, which is physical health, psychological health, social skills, and academic
According to the article How Physical Fitness May Promote School Success, children who take part in physical activity absorb and retain new information more effectively than other students who are out of shape.
