Hook: There are many situations where you would have to be a survivor. Aron Ralston, Hyeonseo Lee and Mr. Rainsford, a fictional character from “The Most Dangerous Game”, are all survivors. Ms. Lee had to leave North Korea illegally, Rainsford had to survive a murders game and Aron Ralston had to somehow find a way to get his arm out of a huge boulder. To be an extraordinary survivor you need three traits: determination, knowledge and hope. T:To begin Aron Ralston had determination. E:Aron Ralston spent six days out in the canyon (Trapped). A:Aron could've just given up and lay there to die, but he didn't. He knew he had things to live for. He had a family and friends he needed to go home to. E:“ I thrash myself forward and back, side to side, up and down, down and up. I scream out of pure hate, shrieking as I batter my body against the canyons walls…” (Day 6). A:Aron went through a tremendous amount of pain to free himself from the boulder. A trance that he had added to his determination. He wanted a future and he was determined to go after it. E:When Rainsford was running throughout the island he used the Malay Mancatcher. A:He used this trap to hurt Zaroff. With Rainsford using his knowledge about hunting and hurting Zaroff he bought himself time to get farther away from Zaroff. E:“He thought of a native trick he had learned in Uganda”(page 20). Also in this example Rainsford used another trap. A:When he used this trap it killed Zaroffs servant Ivan. Rainsford used his hunting skills to win the murders
