In the first story you have to really figure out what the sirens are. While in the second story the sirens are straightforward and very easily to figure out. In both of the stories you can easily tell what was going on and portray what’s happening also they both have a similar theme. There is a strong use of metaphor in both text for example the English translated text says “Never has a sailor passed our shores in his black craft until he has heard the honeyed voices pouring from our lips. “There is a strong metaphor use there because the author is saying the voices are pouring from our lips our being the island. Both of the stories use a lot of imagery when the authors compare the sirens to something they usually compare them to a visual representation. One has more imagery and is more direct and the other story has less imagery and is less direct. The Sirens are beautiful creatures in Greek mythology that sing with their beautiful voice to lure sailors and men. The sirens are portrayed today in books, poems, and also in artwork. There are many similarities and differences in the way the Sirens are portrayed in Homer’s Book 12, “The Sirens”, Margaret Atwood’s poem, “Siren Song”, and Romare Bearden’s artwork, “The Sirens’ Song”. In all three versions of the Siren, the sirens are shown to have similar emotional traits and setting, and they are also known to have a beautiful voice in all three versions.
Additionally, the differences and similarities are also about in the characters. Obviously, Walter Mitty is the main character in both the movie and short story. The short story has him seeming to be much older than he is in the movie. Walter was taken throughout different daydreams in the motion picture and story. He was going through a normal day , in the short story and movie , and experienced things like being in front of a firing squad , pretending to be Sean O'Connell and talking to Cheryl , being an expert surge working on VIPs , and etc.

The Sirens of Wildwood Falls When Alex Smith noticed his 13-year-old brother, Chris, slip off the rocks above Wildwood Falls he knew there was only one thing to do. Without hesitation, the 16-year-old boy ran to the edge of the rocks, where the current of the Row River was pulling his younger brother towards the nearby waterfalls. He extended his reach as far as he could to save his brother, and was unable to grab him. Leaving the safety of the rocky shore, he jump in, hoping to pull his brother to safety. Wildwood Falls, located near Cottage Grove, Oregon, is a local favorite for cooling off on a hot summer day.
Segregations of family members is shown in both stories, this is a dilemma that the characters and family members need to cope with. Another example these two short stories need to cope with is the disappointing result of many people dying in war. Throughout The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen and The Color of Fire by Ann Rinaldi, there were many obvious similarities but also several key differences. While analyzing the two stories, comparisons between characters, setting, point of view and theme became apparent. Both stories discuss characters who overcame a struggle in their lives. These historical fiction pieces help readers understand the hardships of certain historical events and the reality of life for people living in those eras. The connections between stories will help readers make connections between important events of the past.
Both stories have the same author’s style, setting and animals as characters, and a human and animal connection. But, the stories are different because of the poetic structure, tame or wild animals, and simple of sophisticated diction. First, the author’s style is similar in “Predators” and “A Blessing”. Both of the poems have sound devices. For example, in “A Blessing” the author repeats the word “they” several times at the beginning of each line, “they ripple tensely, they can hardly contain their happiness” and “they bow shyly as wet swans.
Both of these stories use the theme of isolation, madness, symbolism and have an ironic ending.
The poem and folktale The Old Grandfather and His Little Grandson and Abuelito Who are similar and different in plenty of ways. One is about someone who is mistreated and one is about someone who dies. One has a narrator and one is told by the granddaughter. Those are just some of the differences. The characters, theme, genre, change in characters, events, and message expressed by theme are different and similar.
They both relate to each other in a couple of ways how the main characters in both stories hallucinate and have an ambition for something.
