The play Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare left a lot to the reader’s imagination. While it is important for the reader to form their own interpretations, illustrations such as those painted by Richard Dadd and Henry Fuseli give the reader a concreate image of specific scenes from the play. These depictions share similar characteristic, and their own twists that make them unique. Both paintings are effective in conveying the mood and themes of the piece, and provide imagery that enhances the reader’s experience. Hamlet, by Shakespeare, is about Hamlet the prince of Denmark who has lost his father, and his mother married his uncle. In act, I scene V two directors take a distinctive look at the ghost scene where Hamlet’s father's ghost appears. Kenneth (Branagh, 1996) and Franco (Zeffirelli, 1990) both directed Hamlet. Both Branagh and Franco made a fantastic ghost scene, but Branagh did a superior job. The King's portrayal has a major effect on the emotions of the scene.
Hamlet Journal 1 In William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet, the main character Hamlet, appears to be insane, but his mistrust for his uncle and desire for revenge drives him “To put on an antic disposition on— / That you, at such times seeing me, never shall,” (I.v.181). He succeeds in convincing almost everyone around him that he is truly a mad man whose only cure is execution; however, he is enigmatic and ambiguous. By having an appearance of insanity and madness, Hamlet is able to use it to his advantage to achieve his own purpose of ridding his father’s murderer.

Polonius presents himself in a declaring tone to convey the significance of one’s actions before Laertes’ departure to France. Hamlet, written by famous playwright and poet, William Shakespeare, is frequently referred to as the “Mona Lisa” of literature. The true purpose and complete understanding of the play is, up to this day, not remotely knowledgeable by scholars and the audience alike. The play has led to much conversation about what Shakespeare was ultimately trying to accomplish with it. One vexed and widely referred critique was that made by T.S. Hamlet displays positive and negative behavior throughout the play. Hamlet exhibits strengths and weaknesses as well, although his weaknesses of over-thinking, bitterness, and his inability to accept the death of his father overshadow his strengths.
