These people are unreliable narrators. The unreliable narrators that we encounter day to day are ones that can’t be trusted. In The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield has many influences that make him unreliable narrator throughout his journey in the story such as his profanity, his immaturity and the way he speaks the readers. To begin, Holden Caulfield in the story uses many different ways to express his feeling to us specifically in profanity.

Ayn Rand's novel, "Anthem" is proposing the theory of technology taking the world for the worst. As the book states, "The flame of the candle stands still in the air. " This is meaning that no light bulbs or modern technology is present, because of extreme digression in intelligence. It shows that science fiction includes theories of technology carrying the world towards digression or progression.

While reading Carr’s essay "is google making me stupid?" I had a sense of Carr establishing strong either/or positions to justify the relationship of the internet on human behavior. Throughout the essay I found myself having mixed opinions in which I either agreed to Carr’s statements or strongly opposed his view, as I related the material to my own life experiences. Carr begins his essay by referencing Space Odyssey to metaphorically relate his own "sense that someone, or something" had been tinkering with his brain, "remapping the neural circuitry, reprogramming the memory," to the near deep space death of the "malfunctioning machine" of Space Odyssey, and "disconnecting the memory circuits that control its artificial brain."
