The poem “A Drop of Tear from My Master” by Gyempo Wangyell is based on the theme impermanence. In the poem, the author describe the nature of life and how a death is bitter truth of living life. He tells reader to emulate the root master to overcome the nature of life and to obtain enlightenment. In first stanza, author describe the impermanence comparing with the cheerful ray which lightens our day. He had used adjective “cheerful” to personify the ray or light which signify the happiness and when he state “turn its back and darken our days”, it signify the sadness that are uncertain in our life. In second stanza, author describe the truth of death. He uses “I dare to spill the beans of deadly life” to contrast between the secret of life and what we see. Everyone and everything in this world has to come to end irrespective of what they are and how they are. He tells that nothing is certain in this world except the death.
