The Dahlonega Gold Museum has long since been an attraction for tourists to this little mountain town. It harbors many displays of historical artifacts and interesting items that tell the story of how Dahlonega became the city it is today. From huge gold nuggets, to maps of the mines, to a document signed by the 10th president of the United States- the Gold Museum features objects that brilliantly display the charm and the history of Dahlonega. But as wonderful as the artifacts are, they can’t compare to the hospitality of the historians and volunteers who work at the Gold Museum. Each person is always willing to tell you a story or two about the traditions of the town or regal you with interesting, little known facts about gold and gold mining.
In his poem Ozymandias, Percy Shelly contrasts the enduring power of nature against mankind’s’ waning fame, thus romanticizing nature’s omnipotent influence. The speaker recounts the story of a traveler’s recollection of a shattered monument, once revered, strewn across the desert of an ancient land. While the monument was erected in reverence to reflect upon the mighty power of a man’s grand works, its ruins and decay of the man’s creation note the futility of mankind. Nature, however, is an everlasting sacred force, capable of withstanding any obstacle, ideals that emphasizes Shelly’s romantic perspective. Shelley’s admiration of nature becomes evident in the speaker’s and traveler’s tone of adoration.
Followed by more shots of a shoddy Iraqi town, and of course the iconic lyrics “Risin' up, straight to the top, Had the guts, got the glory, Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop, Just a man and his will to survive.” in comparison to Daughtry, the choice to align the exploding of the IED with the beat in the song may reflect the power behind the sound as well as the memory of it. Also, the overall choice of song is consistent with Daughtry; the classic 80s rock, semi-ironic but truthfully the lyrics are rather compelling. As the video closes out we see parallels between Daughtry and Caholo, with shots of boots and helmets resting on erect rifles at a memorial service, followed by a sign showing names of the fallen soldiers. Whether or not Caholo was a serviceman, he too uses music to commemorate and celebrate the heroism and sacrifice of US
Introduction In the middle of the California coast is Monterey County, Monterey County is made up of many wonderful sites described as “must-see” places in California websites, travelling websites, and even National Geographic. The drive down Highway 1, the Monterey Aquarium, the Mission in Carmel, and so many other places that define much of California’s beauty and history. Inside Monterey County, more inland, is the town of Salinas. Salinas may not be so popular next to one of the major tourist attractions in California; however, it is a very important example of democracy in local government, especially in California. This is due to a vote that made it possible for the vast Latino population in Salinas to obtain representation to the point of taking over local government.
Introduction The idea of coolness, view of mountains and exotic foreign scenery provides the feeling of comfort and happiness. Every individual deserves to experience the greatness of life at least once in their lifetime. With the daily hardships and struggles, life can become overwhelming. However, all is possible when the inevitable will to break free from reality is at its peak. In the short story “Transients in Arcadia”, O Henry portrays through Madame Beaumont and the use of figurative language that the prejudice against varying social classes in society makes one want to escape from the dreariness of reality into another realm of paradise.
Italy arranges traveler quantity for "soaked" Cinque Terre coastline The national park powers are considering an application which would demonstrate guests which towns were excessively swarmed – with a "movement light" framework showing red for stuffed, yellow for occupied and green for generally void They are prestigious for their sensational bluffs, unpredictably terraced vineyards, pleasant harbors and winding beach front trails. In any case, the Cinque Terre villages of Liguria in Italy's northwest, portrayed by one manual as "pastel-toned flawlessness", have gotten to be casualties of their own magnificence – so soaked by mass tourism lately that local people say they can no more adapt. Presently the national park power that takes
The commercial also represents a process/engineering that appeals to me: when an idea is simple effortless, (example – protected intersections), but behind the idea is complex. The fact that people would be willing to work so hard to bring some joy, something to appear effortless and thus fun. That elegance is what draws me to city planning. That someone decided to launch bouncy balls down the famously steep streets because they could (just for the hell of it). What you do not see are the months of planning and coordination that went in to making it look effortless.
Focusing in on the blurry display of the sunset, and then click! All of the beauty of the sky was captured within that one moment, which will stay in vivid colors forever. Photos are a very important artifact in people’s lives that preserve memories and keep history in a single image. Without the many innovations that many photographic techniques and cameras went through in history even from the earliest inventions, then people would not have the cameras and that the world sees today. The two museums that I chose to visit were the LA Plaza de Arte y Cultura and The America Tropical: Interpretative Center. Los Angeles is one of the most popular cities in California with plenty of museums and places to visit. There is so much history to learn about that I had not realized before. I try to avoid the area due to high traffic, but the area was nice and there were so many friendly people. I am not originally from Los Angeles; I grew up in the Inland Empire, but Los Angeles always fascinated me.
