Today’s lecture on the physician assistants (PA) was very informative. Mrs. Hughes spoke on what a physician assistant is, what they do as well as what the requirements are for those who chose the career path. Currently, the medical center utilizes pharmacy techs to deliver medications across a widely spread out hospital campus. Budgetary constraints are currently limiting our ability to hire more healthcare provdiers, so an ability to utilize licensed caregivers more efficiently would be helpful.

Although I was focused on pursuing a career in the law I was also intrigued by the medical field. I was exposed to the world of medicine from a very young age. My mother, sister, and grandmother all had careers in the field. I was always the selected person to help them study for a quiz, practice a procedure on, and to hear about their stories from work. Their careers seemed fascinating.
