It will be very exciting when you hang out with you friends in a place that you are not familiar with, which can help you to learn about the world outside. For me, I have had an external creative trip to Sapa with my classmates. It was the most memorable journey in my life since I did not come back home with only a backpack of clothes, I also returned with stories and feelings. Our trip can be encapsulated in two words: happiness and fear-facing. They once said that:” Life was meant with good friends and great adventures.” I had all my greatest friends ever with me, so that trip was covered of joy. The fun had started since we started our journey. First, we visited Kim Dong Secondary school with an exchange program. We had prepared some performances …show more content…
I have learnt how to communicate with people whom you first met. I knew how to befriend with them. I know how to survive when I am out of my comfort zone. It was a great achievement that I had stood out to face with my fear of height. I understand how to live without the help of my parents. When I had troubles, my friends and I had gathered to find out the solution. I had car-sickness and I was about to vomit. If I had been at home at that time, my parents would have taken care of me. But I was with my friends and they helped me to feel better. I have learnt that vegetable is very important to our body. When we had our meals, I was on the same table as Mrs. Thu. She asked us to eat all the vegetable and never let any food been leftover. On my table, Hoang Phuong never eats vegetable, but we had forced her to have two bowl of vegetable. Neither did Hoang. Diem Quynh had to bring veggies to his table and warned him that if he did not eat them, he would be punished. Another story was we knew how to communicate with indigenous people. When we had free activities in the evening, Hoang Phuong, Diem Quynh, Vu Hoang and I were on a group and we took a long walk around. We went through a market and kept following the way in front of us. After being tired, we realized that we had got lost. But with the help of people here, we knew how to get back to the Catholic Church. They were very
There is always activities to do at the small town from jeeping, rafting, hiking, and cycling. Journalists go to write down the history and the way the small town is its in its own world of happiness. Travelers go to be part of the community and join in the events that make the town so special. The town mesmerizes anyone who enters to pure positivity and shows you a part of the world that no one really knows but one can only hope will someday find. I realized that you don 't have to go to a different continent to find the beauty that the earth beholds.
I took chances and did things that I never would have done before. I went on two retreats that greatly impacted my life as I know it and a service trip that I will remember for the rest of my life. I, by the grace of God, had the privilege of meeting someone, at one time a complete stranger, who has since become one of my best
Many kids do not realize how life is out of the United States. I have experienced a completely new aspect of life outside of an American life into a third world country. Being able to stay there for half of the summer each year as taught me valuable characteristics. The culture experience I had in El Salvador has made me a humble individual, who has become more generous and a thankful person.
Cultural Crossroads: An Exploration of Identity and Tradition in Joseph Boyden's Three Day Road In Joseph Boyden's novel Three Day Road, the story follows the emotional and thought provoking journey of mainly Niska and Xavier Bird. Niska is a Cree Indigenous person who has strayed from her community in order to keep her roots by staying true to their culture. Xavier, her nephew, was rescued from the residential schools and dragged into war through his friend (also Cree) Elijah. Looking at this story we see that identity is a big theme even relating to the author, there are also other reflections of Indigenous culture in this story like the 7 grandfather teachings and assimilation.
I had to prove to myself that I am good enough and with hard work I can achieve anything. This made me realize that nothing in life is handed to you and you have to work hard at whatever challenge is

They taught me about God and all that he gives us. They are always there for me whenever I need them because they love and care for me. My grandma is a dietitian and worked many years at a hospital before she retired. She had suspicions that I had diabetes at a small age. My grandma told my parents to take me to the 24 hour clinic across the street.
