In the speech, “Failure of kindness,” George Saunders message is that he knew that people were suffering. But, he failed to be kind and help them, even though he was not mean. In the text, it says, “What I regret most in my life are failures of kindness. Those moments when another human being was there in front of me suffering and I responded… Sensibly.
Being kind isn't always a good thing it could ultimately be the bad thing in some cases, The reason I say this is because you might be kind to the wrong person and they will do something bad. For an example being kind to a robber in precautions of not knowing what they will do. In Romeo and Juliet someone being kind caused terrible accidents that had ultimately caused the death of both teens. How just rejecting situations or decisions could have avoided events causing a lots of accidents that could have been handled in an easier manner. A careful analysis will show that misguided kindness led to the deaths of the two young lovers.
People will be a lot less selfish when act of kindness goes around because they can learn from people around them that, if we all help out each other we can make this world a better place. Being nice to someone is like domino effect; when person being nice to someone and that person will pass down that act of kindness to someone else. I personally love to give compliment to people because I feel like I am encouraging that person and also knowing that someone is pleased because of what I said to them. Complimenting, smiling or holding doors for people are few of the ways you can help makes people days better, take a few seconds of your day to help out someone can change people views on the society. As a result, act of kindness encourages people to become more selfless and helps people see the big picture.
Simple acts of kindness have the ability to change peoples perspectives on life and the people have the potential to change the world. In the article “Teaching Kindness” the author states, “kindness is a key ingredient that enhances positivity and helps children feel good about themselves as it increases serotonin levels.” I believe that children being shown kindness is very vital for up and coming generations. The new generations of the world have witnessed several things that aren’t acts of kindness, they were just rude. Children are very influential with peoples actions and they essentially absorb things like a sponge.
Kindness Is A Cure Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Now that may sound sappy and cheesy but think about it being kind is not always the easiest thing, it takes a lot of effort. Also can’t it be said that kindness is a cure. Of course it won’t cure cancer or HIV/AIDS or the common cold, but it can cure the heart.
Kindness is the act of going out of your way to be kind or nice to someone or showing a person that you care. At the same time, it’s not just about being nice to someone, but also about showing sympathy and understanding. For many people, acts of kindness are done without expecting anything in return. Kindness is, unfortunately, something that you don’t see that often anymore. This makes it important that we remind each other, and ourselves, that we should be kind to one another.
“Old Man with Enormous Wings” (1955), literally is a story depicting a mysterious man with wings who visited a Colombian family. The old man is caged in a chicken coop, and the town’s people pay the visit in his place. This novel wryly examines how human beings respond to those who are different, weak and dependent in the society. Cruelty and callousness are clearly illustrated throughout the book. When the people discovered that the man might be an angel, they don’t pay respect and homage to him.
Kindness can give and receive in many different ways. It can eigther make us happy happy or make somebody angry and cause a problem that was not worth it. “Professor Sonja Lyubomirsky from the University of California asked participants in the study to preform random act of kindness over ten weeks. She found happiness increased with people who preformed a wide variety of kind acts over people who preformed one act of kindness repeatedly.” (Buckis)
This makes no sense to me. In my life I have gathered countless memories of when being kind was just a cool thing to do. Along with that, I’ve read about how being kind was the new cool, and have experienced these moments in life that truly taught me that being kind was just the way to go. Now, kindness is praised, and being praised for anything is genuinely cool. Also, being kind is more than just how you act all the time, it is how you react to certain things and situations, how you deal with your problems.
Your words or actions can last forever on others. Sometimes it doesn’t feel permanent to you, but to the other person, it could be everlasting. Though you may not always see the impact of your kindness, it still exists and it still
English dictionary the definition of kindness is as follows: “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.” And I suppose that’s an accurate description of what kindness is. Originating in Middle English between 1250-1300 in the UK region, it’s meaning hasn’t really changes in the past 700 years. Though, the use of this word has decreased from being one ever 400 words in books, down to only one every 6,000 words.
Introduction: Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. This is a behaviour marked by ethical characteristics, a pleasant disposition, and a concern for others, making it a highly respected quality in our society. From a young age, although we may not entirely understand the attribute of kindness, the people we were surrounded by often intent to instill this virtue among us. As we become older and begin to interact with other individuals and cultures who possess this quality, we begin to learn the importance it has in our life. From personal experiences we progressively learn lessons that help us mature as adults and prepare us with the wisdom to instill the value of kindness among others, generating a continuous ripple effect.
