I expect my college experience to equip me with knowledge and skills on how to become an effective and influential elementary school teacher and I know that ACU has a successful education program that will provide me with internships, classroom experience, and courses that will teach me how to impact and educate even the most challenging students in a classroom. Furthermore, since I will be away from my church back in Dallas if I'm accepted into ACU, I expect to maintain a stronghold of my faith even while I'm far from home. God is the center of my life and I want to grow even closer to Him and others who love Him like I do, that is why I'm applying to ACU where teachers and classmates value their relationships with God and can help me sustain
I see myself being an engaged member of the WCU and Brinson Honors College community by being involved in community service opportunities, becoming a member of leadership organizations, and taking advantage of opportunities to study and serve in a different country or to participate in undergraduate studies. I plan to be engaged in the WCU community by being involved in all that I can be involved in. Specifically, I hope to become involved in at least one of the faith-based groups on campus, such as the Baptist Student Fellowship at WCU or the Campus Crusade for Christ. Becoming involved in faith-based organizations is important to me and will allow me to love God and love people better by learning more about God and participating in service projects that will share his love and truth. Additionally, I want to join a local Church family, where I hope to serve in various aspects of the Church, especially those that involve children, something that I am passionate about.
My name is Xavier Lira and I am a devoted, empathetic individual who has developed an earnest passion for helping others. I am the son of two hardworking immigrant parents who sacrificed the life they knew in Mexico with the hope of a better tomorrow for their children. I am the son of my softhearted mother and resilient father who taught me the importance of appreciating life and pursuing happiness. I was raised to use my morality as a better judgment and taught to be grateful for the life I was blessed with, especially when times were difficult. This lesson was mainly demonstrated to me when my family and I did not have a place to call home after nearly losing my father in a work-related accident.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
All along, I have managed to maintain the principles of ethics and integrity, a strong sense of purpose, and morality, which binds me rigidly. Appointment as student leader in all stages of my school and college life has presented me with opportunity to interact with people, develop organizational and communication skills. My involvement with speech, debate and sports has made me more than just an academic person In the pursuit of excellence and with a passion to reach the highest skills in my discipline, I look upon University of Texas, Arlington a springboard to accomplish my dreams. This esteemed institution can serve as a ladder and enable me to achieve higher aims by providing me the most contemporary input and exposure.
As I think of the University of Mississippi, the aspect that most impresses me, and is an addition to my desire to immerse myself in this prominent learning community is the University's outstanding resources. I am very attracted to the opportunity to explore and learn at the University of Mississippi's science departments. Science has been my academic passion ever since I entered middle school. Since then, I have always wanted to get into the medical field to become a neurologist. I believe the brain is a black box with endless mysteries waiting to be explored.
I have always retained a keen passion in learning about medicine and dreamed about becoming a pediatrician. As I learned more about NYU, I fell more in love with the university, aspiring to one day step into the halls of the school and make my mark. I believe it was the perfect place for me to start my pre-medical studies into one day becoming a doctor. When I first ventured in and around NYU in New York City, my eyes sparkled at the marvel of the campus. It is not one's typical campus.
On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world. However, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Aside from UF's impressive titles, the University offers outstanding opportunities that suit my academic goals and living situation. On the surface, the University of Florida prevails as one of the top ten public universities in the United States and one of the best colleges in the world.
As I start my time at CCU to pursue my Bachelor’s degree online I have an opportunity to take what I have learned from my experience while earning my Associate’s degree at IBMC College. It will be my goal to be more engaged and will have higher goals for my grades and earning awards through the school. For me it has always been easy to show up at the right place at the right time and stay for the required amount of time. This can lead to a mindless routine and complacency.
New York University specifically interests me because of the profound sense of unity within its diverse urban campus in New York City. The unique backgrounds of its community members creates a compelling dynamic in and out of the classroom experience. When searching for where I wanted to spend the next years of my life after I graduate, I never encountered an atmosphere so invigorating and so impassioned as NYU. I could want nothing more than to one day call myself a part of this motivational community, building relationships with people who share my passion for helping others and who will both value my talents as well as challenge me to grow. I particularly grew fond of the economics program as it is recognized as one of the best in the world
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
I’ve always wanted to live in the city, and going to NYU has the advantage over west coast cities since I would be close to my family. The summers of my younger years were spent with my grandparents in New York City. I remember looking out at awe as I rode the subway across the Manhattan bridge. During the school year, my family would often go on the weekends from our home in New Jersey into Manhattan to have some dim sum and go shopping. Of course, the city also has practical features.
Serving as the student advisor for the 56th President’s Leadership Class has given me a chance to express my passion of developing others. At the same time I have been able to instill the value of loving what you do. I never thought, however, that I could turn this passion into a career. While working in the Student Affairs department at The University of Oklahoma, I have been able to simultaneously observe the adults who work in the office. The employees in OU’s Student Affairs department live out my passions day in and day out.
Lauren hosted a dinner party where I met Howard and Chris. We discussed education from every angle and context. At the end of the party Chris said “Daniele, look at GSU’s College of Education’s Educational Psychology program, if you want to fulfill your desire to work in education, then start there.” I graduated from a school right here in Atlanta, I could have attended GSU for my undergraduate on a Hope scholarship, but at the time GSU was transitioning to becoming a major public research university in an urban area.
The reason for being in CCU first of all is because I dropped out of college while studying for Medical Technology and that caused such a shift in the very foundation of my core in life that everything was hard and had to look at and deal life in very different ways. In truth a total wake up call, grow up and face the smallest mistake with the biggest consequence. Even though, through out life I have heard and seen how people may react to others who are not educated or with less money, I never thought or knew it would happen to me. My own family, not my parents, but cousins and relatives, who I have seen and grew together, had such a change of attitude and indifference towards me that it shocked me and it was unbelievable and to the fact
As a premier research university, University of Rochester is an ideal place for me to develop bench skills and gain experience in cutting edge experimental methods and processes. I am a double major in math and chemistry, and have exceptionally strong analytical skills as well as an ability to easily adapt to new research environments. Having an REU is an invaluable opportunity for me to come in ready to work hard, and in return continuously learn throughout the summer about the specific research I am conducting as well as general laboratory skills. Ultimately, the program will make me more aware of my own interests and prepare me for further chemistry studies. The laboratory experiences available to past REU students at Rochester target some
