My appointment to General McLane’s LINK Crew is an amazing opportunity to gain leadership training and utilize it within my local community. LINK Crew is a faculty-appointed organization that utilizes forty driven juniors and seniors to help transfer students and incoming freshman become orientated to the high school culture and rules. Leaders act as student mentors for new kids by helping them find their classes, teaching them small life-lessons, and introducing them to faculty, teachers, and other new students. Each year, we go through over fifteen hours of training regarding leadership, public speaking, and communication skills in order to present to new students several times a year. We also act as leaders within sports, academic, extracurricular,
As a co-leader for the Greater Bethesda AMSA chapter, I work to support the professional goals of the NIH post-baccalaureate fellows through hosting panel discussions, group meetings regarding the professional school application process, and organizing mock interviews. In addition, I organize community and volunteer opportunities such as Kids Enjoy Exercise Now. It is fulfilling to witness students gain valuable knowledge and support while navigating through the application process. Working as an officer for AMSA has taught me the value of being a co-leader, that is working with other leaders to achieve a common goal and how to plan events based on the needs of the student community.
FLORENCE— Florence-Carlton Schools observe the Montana Behavioral Initiative (MBI) universals: be safe, be responsible, and be respectful. MBI is a proactive approach to encouraging a social culture that develops behavioral and academic success for all students. With the help of faculty advisors Mrs. Kirby, Mrs. Bristow, Ms. Golding, and Mrs. Smart, student leader James Clark has successfully established a club which champions these ethics. The Respect Club of Florence-Carlton is working to build the level of respect toward all individuals in the school community and empower the student body to get involved.
Villa even offers a shadow day where students can request someone with similar interests to follow around all day and get to know the school better. Along with that, there is open house and they have scholarship drawing there. They show around the school which includes (brief list): the newly constructed science lab, gymnasium, lunchroom, and Villa’s IPad

This unit pairs with his current FM unit at school. The pen can be passed among classmates as a microphone during spontaneous conversations in class. It can be placed on the lunch table near his peers so that pragmatic language amongst peers can be effective. This unit needs to be one that is free to travel with Sam at all times so that he can freely participate in recreational, community, social, cultural and family activities where he will need to access sound. The Roger Pen can also serve as a back up for when the Educational FM unit has technical issues.
A couple of years ago I meet Executive Vice-President, Kelly Wright, and became interested in Tableau as a potential partner in our local school districts. As someone who thinks "outside of the box," I can see tremendous value Tableau could have in the daily school operations and learning environments. My interest in Tableau has now led me to be motivated to seek out employment opportunities for your
At my school, I am a co-leader of Sankofa, my school’s Black Awareness Club. We educate the student body on racial issues and have discussions about what it means to be black in our society. Throughout high school, I have helped this club grow from a few students to a flourishing space where students and teachers gather to better themselves and our school. After every event I feel progress being made. From the transformed way the members in my club interact in their community to the increasing number of curious new members, this club are advancing the presence of black students in my school.
What It Means To Be Civically Engaged Bill is a seventh grader who wants to be civically engaged in something for his school. So one day he went to his dearest teacher and asked how can I be civically engaged in school. The teacher said “ To be civically engaged means to participate in campus community or your own community. Some examples to to be civically engaged are to get involved in student government, serve in communities, and join a student organization and earnestly participate in activities.”
Kelly - Tell me about yourself. I’m going to high school this year. I really want to be in Intrepid’s Camp Goals Summer Program because I think it would be a lot of fun and teach me a lot about
During my time with the club I often met with Kiwanis (A organization of volunteers), soon I learned that Kiwanis created The Key club to give high school students an opportunity to serve their community. I also uncovered that The Georgia Institute of Technology also enjoys a Kiwanis club. In terms of service I believe that through community service, I may make a positive contribution to Georgia Tech upon arrival. I am very excited to join Kiwanis in college. I have always served locally, but I am exuberant to assist broader
The President 's Leadership Academy is an opportunity for students who do not settle for the regular curriculum and aspire to become involved servant-leaders through experiential learning, workshops, and classes. The mission of the PLA is to give BGSU students the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills through a curriculum based on the concept of servant leadership. This way, these young adults may be able to grow in their leadership abilities and contribute to society both while in school and after graduation. I am particularly interested in being a part of the PLA because of my joy for servant leadership. In my high school career I have assumed many leadership positions.
My role would be to bring new ideas and perspectives that will benefit the community as a whole. Throughout high school, I have gained skills in organizing events to address issues that were affecting the students. As ASB vice president, I took the time to listen to the ideas of members who represented several groups on campus. In our meetings, the topic of Black History month came up. Considering that our community was predominantly African American and Hispanic, I knew the importance of celebrating both cultures.
What Has Influenced Me To Attend A Post-Secondary Education Institution? When I was in the fifth grade I had joined West Side Boys & Girls Club they had opened my eyes on how to be friendly and how to respect others around you. They had prepared me on how to include people and how to open up myself and how to get ready for college and what it has to offer me.
The statistics generated in the games by the team and the athletes is then compiled into a media guide after it is distributed to the media, another important responsibility an SID has. SIDs accommodate media representatives who cover the various teams by issuing press credentials, supplying in-game statistics, and assisting in coordinating interviews and press conferences (Job Profile: Sports Information Director 1).
