Clinical research is from acute to chronic care experience throughout life span. It involves health promotion and preventive care for individual, families and communities in different settings. It is important for nursing research to widen the scope in order to have a greater impact in future. The aspect of health promotion and preventive care are very important because some diseases are better prevented than treated and while some changes are irreversible such as aging are part of human experience. Health systems and outcomes research focuses on how health care delivery influences quality, cost and experience of patient.
Stakeholders’ support/suggestions/involvement at each stage is crucial in the success of any healthcare program intervention. Involving stakeholders during all stages of a care management program can lead to establishment of long-term support for the program. Our strategy for stakeholder engagement is by formal presentation to stakeholders (program champions) who are actively involved and influential. 6. Evaluation According to the United State Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, program evaluation is defined as the “the systematic collection of information about the activities, characteristics, and outcomes of programs to make judgments about the program, improve program effectiveness, and/or inform decisions about future program development”10. This is a critical concept in public health as it improves program implementation and aid program accountability and effectiveness. Evaluation also aid problem solving, provides critical information for knowledge understanding and inform decision making. The procedure and processes for evaluation should not only involve evaluation expert but also all relevant stakeholders.
Understanding the Healthcare system can be very challenging due to the system is constantly changing from new technology manage care, health care reforms, aging populations and other economic factors that have a significant impact in the service provided. Understanding plays an important role in the health care system because the improving quality in the healthcare system requires the implementation of internationally and recognized evidence based guidelines and protocols. EBP is necessary to integrate the best research with clinical expertise and patient value to establish best health outcomes. We believe that openly outlining and understanding some form of theory that explains the reason for why an intervention may work to induce planned
The Health Promotion Model is the middle range theory utilized in the paper. It describes the multidimensional nature of persons as they interact within their environment to pursue health (Petiprin, 2016). It is also directed at increasing a patient's level of well-being. According to McEwen and Wills (2011), health promotion interventions are necessary for improving the health populations everywhere and on all ages. The Health Promotion Model makes four assumptions (Petiprin, 2016): 1 Individuals seek to actively regulate their own
Faced with multiple health system challenges, governments are advocating for team-based approaches to health care. Key descriptors used to describe health care teams include “inter professional,” “multi professional,” “interdisciplinary,” and “multidisciplinary.” Until
The main purpose of the essay is to look at the meaning of privacy and dignity in the modern healthcare practice and discuss application of those principles in midwifery practice. The thesis will also explain the importance of privacy and dignity and the reasons for its advocacy but also the impetus to promoting application of those values in care. The concept of dignity and privacy is broadly researched, discussed and acknowledged as fundamental principle which must be protected and promoted. Despite that, dignity is something that is hard to restrict to one definition but rather is considerably associated with privacy, respect, autonomy and self-esteem. In fact, it depends on combination of self-esteem, self-confidence, identity and interaction with others, particularly on respect received from people.
The cost incurred, as a result of streamlining the claim process, is an absolute variable that influences the growth trajectory of a practice. It becomes imperative to have a solution that caters to this necessity and gives a fair turnover. A successful medical billing process can recuperate a healthcare facility from financial constraints by streamlining the non-medical services like credentialing, billing, coding, follow-up, collections, payments,
Nursing and Ethics Healthcare ethics has been of higher importance as long as healthcare practice has existed. It is first necessary to explain that healthcare ethics is regarded as moral principles that are commonly considered as allowable and reasonable by the society. However, in spite of a universally stable set of ethical standards that direct the healthcare industry, there are many cases of these values on the verge of being violated. For instance, it is extremely possible that a medical worker will face an extraordinary situation that requires high performance of reaction, solicitude, attention and custody. Professor Megan-Jane Johnstone who is noted for her scientific researches in the areas of health care ethics and nursing has focused her work titled Nurses' Experiences of Ethical Preparedness for Mass Health Emergencies and Healthcare Disasters: A Systematic Review
Identification of Concepts/Theories 1. Concepts • Public Health Management can defined as set of activities which are planning (very important) and decision making, organizing (continous) ,leading and controlling that are directed at an organization resources such as human, financial, physical and information. This concept of management helps us understand the structure and operations of the health system and provide an opportunity to manage the complex nature of the health systems and rationale for quality management of the needed resources. • The concept of strategic management which is a set of managerial decisions and actions that determines the long-run performance of an organization such as FHI360 etc which includes internal and external environment scanning; strategy formulation, strategy implementation and ;evaluation and control. The concept helps to
Major categories of external environment issues are political, technological, regulatory, and social. While all of these issues are important in healthcare, I think that social, political, and regulatory issues are the most important in this health care environment because those issues creates a lot of change and problems in healthcare. Health care reform, a social issue, bring forth new political and regulatory issues. Increasing aging population is another major issue in health care that will affect the system drastically. Change is inevitable in the health care industry, and this changes includes new policies and regulations as the healthcare environment shift and is a so why these issues are of most
Security should always be required when accessing patient records. Data use agreements and connections between HIE organizations are also a concern with health information exchange. “The types of healthcare partners that are needed is a challenge when determining the trading area needed for a viable HIE” (PHII, 2005). Although there are challenges, there are opportunities with implementing a health information exchange system. One opportunity is HIE can improve reporting to public health and in return improve the health of the community.
