This project has prepared for collage because I have learned time management skills. The time management skill that I have developed has helped me in other classes. My grades are great because of my time management skills and English is the core class that students can learn time management skills. These essays have stressed me, out but if I did not do them, I would not have learned efficient time management
I now have a strong respect for the time I have to get my work done. Time management is often hard to grasp however, I have learned how to set goals for myself to stay on track. I often get frustrated when I mix-up of certain letters and I still have to re-read most texts or articles to grasp the concepts, but I am lucky that with the help I gained at St. John I was able to mostly outgrow the issue. Getting into the University of California Davis or any other UC seemed as if an unattainable dream, but my hard work throughout high school to get good grades and improve my test scores, culminated to an end up at a high level academic University. I believe this literacy I gained is functional due to the education system I grew up in.
Sometimes, it helps a lot for someone else to critique your paper just so you can get someone other than your own opinion. Writing in college is way more complex than writing in high school. I always have to make sure that I revise and edit my papers now, because it’s crucial not too. Usually whenever I edit, I use a highlighter to mark out the text I need to correct. I also use tools that help correct my grammar and help me find misused words and punctuations.
For example, my last essay involved critical thinking where I chose to apply the same material from a previous essay but had to fashion the ideas in a totally different way. Outside the classroom or virtual cyberspace, my mind has begun to open up and learn new things which have allowed me to see that my processing problem is improving and can be overcome as I continue to learn and develop my writing, reading, and thinking skills. Having examined how I have grown as a writer, reader, and critical thinker, I can observe the writing assignments that I enjoyed and had the most difficulty composing in English
Going for help is much better than trying to figure out for myself what i needed to work on. I know by setting a goal for myself and planning has also made me grow as a student. My reading and thinking isn 't much of a problem. But i still have a lot of weaknesses i need to focus on, such has actually trying to read an article or sometimes missing key ideas of what i’ve read. My
I had also used quotes better after using quotes I have cited them properly and explained the quote better. The final paper which was due was the literary analysis paper. Which I think that I have put on the most effort into. I did the most research on this paper. What helped me the most with this paper is simply being in class.
English writing 101 I was able to fully understand how to fix these problems for those essays and in the future. In my Self-Inventory Essay it is very noticeable that my organization is a problem. It is visible that I don’t have good transitions into and out of each paragraph; first off I use “my first strength”, “my second strength” which are very plan and simple. In my Comparative Analysis Essay we can wee that I have come up with better transitions to make the whole essay seem more organized, for example I used more specific transitions like “In Amy Tans Mother Tongue” and for the paragraph after it I used “This shows that the” which make it flow better and be more concise. In my Self-Inventory
The reward serves as a motivation for me and promotes putting more attention on class. Then, I started to spend even more time performing homework assignments to justify my further expectations. Consequently, I passed my second midterm, not with the best score. However, it meant even more than an A for me, as I overcame a seemingly impossible barrier and experienced the result of my work, which satisfied my expectations. Identically, as in the previous justification process, I found reasons to equilibrate my beliefs with the reality.
This weakness embodied itself through my writing, especially since many of the prompts revolved around the subjective topics of our personal identity and language use. However, I was determined to succeed in this class, and made it a goal to practice putting my claims into words by analyzing their function, reworking the idea, and reanalyzing it. While this process was tedious, I significantly improved my ability to develop my claims over the course of the
So I started to ask my friends what they meant knowing that they might make fun of me, but they did not make fun of me. I was able to learn english faster than many people because I worked hard. I was also able to learn the phrases even though I was too afraid of asking what they meant. As you can see, I have faced and overcome the most significant challenges of my life when I came to United
The first event was a consistent thing which was teachers correcting my essays . Every time I would receive an essay or an assignment I would always have an error with using the words " their and there" and using the right conjunction words. The problem that I had was when I was younger I wasn 't taught how to use those words. For an example instead of using the word your correctly I would use it "You 're a pretty cool person." When in reality you 're supposed to use it with the word "you 're."
“My Reading and Writing Strengths” Overall, this class has been an extremely help for me. I have been able to identify my strengths throughout this semester. When I started to question myself about what were my strengths or weaknesses, I have discovered that I have more strengths than weaknesses. But, I know if I let my weaknesses take control I would not be a good student. Conquering my weaknesses would definitely make me a good student.
