“KA-POW!!!!” The gun goes off in a matter of milliseconds. The bullet goes flying through the at nearly 1,700 mph(miles per hour). It hits it’s target in under a second. A National, historical, and honorable hero was shot, and fell down, dead. The hero was our beloved 16th president of the United States , Abraham Lincoln. I think that Abraham Lincoln was a great, and historical president. From when he was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky and to the time he was born to the time he was assassinated, he was trustworthy, happy, believed that blacks should be free, and that the US should be a whole nation.
When Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation it set all the black people we see today free. It also made slaves US citizens so
I think John Brown was a hero, because he tried to find ways to free slaves. Even though he killed people or got people killed in the process, he still was trying his best to help free slaves. Supplying the slaves with weapons was a good idea, but did not turn out they way he wanted. Everyone messes up, but he still had this plan to try and help free slaves.
Name: NISSI EKANEM Date: 05/08/2018 CRN: 58679 DBQ ESSAY Abraham Lincoln and the Struggle for Union and Emancipation, 1861–1865 Even though Abraham Lincoln is remembered as the president that "abolished" slavery, it is also important to remember that there were two sides of the story. “If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could do it by freeing some and leaving others, I would also do that”. This quote is from Abraham Lincoln's letter to newspaperman Horace Greeley.
Both Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass are well-known for their achievements that changed many American’s lives. Not only were they abolitionists but they were people who represented freedom and liberty. Abraham Lincoln, president during the Civil War, is an example of a true hero that showed heroism. He has risked and sacrificed his lives to accomplish what he believed was right. Unlike others, Abraham wasn’t only fighting for himself.
Lincoln ignored a Supreme Court justice 's decision overturning his order, and over the next few years, the Great Emancipator, in one of the war 's starkest ironies, allowed these new restrictions, which also imposed martial law in some volatile border areas and curbed freedom of speech and the press, to expand throughout the Northern states. As the war drew to a close, though, some historians believe Lincoln may have begun to recognize the dangers of his own unprecedented expansion of presidential war powers. More than 13,000 civilians were arrested under martial law during the war throughout the Union. But it was in Missouri, in particular, nearly a thousand miles from the nation 's capital and far beyond the federal government 's
In my opinion, I strongly argue that Lincoln was not racist. He believed that “negro” equality is guaranteed by the laws of God according to Document A. Abraham Lincoln always listened to his people’s desires, even if that meant to shun his own beliefs. His dream was to provide the best equality for his people. Lincoln despised slavery and believed that all African Americans were men and they were all created equal as stated in the US Constitution. Lincoln has done many actions to help his citizens and to gain their equality.
When most people think of a hero, they may think of a fireman, police officer, or a soldier. Although this is true, my definition of a 'hero ' is someone who does something dangerous or brave to save another. Someone who just doesn 't get themselves out of a situation, but they also reach out and try to save the others. There are only a select few people who are brave, compassionate and selfless enough, to spend their days improving the world one act at a time with no regard for personal risk or reward. Frederick Douglass was such a man, and he saved the lives of many slaves.
Abraham Lincoln was one of the best US president. He was born into a poor family. Despite his background he was able become president. He starts to self study law. Lincoln had the idea that states do not have the right to leave the Union.
A hero is somebody who does something remarkable that alters someone's perception of life. A hero, must have the following three attributes; they must be brave, they must have a desire to make a difference, and they must have perseverance. Many people have heard of Andrew Jackson’s contribution to the revolutionary war, but have they ever considered him a hero? Andrew Jackson is one of the most commendable American Heroes Because of his independent education in law, his authoritative presidency, and legacy of Military Advancements. Andrew Jackson personally pursued an education in law.
Andrew Jackson, some say hero, others say monster. Although, history has clearly shown that he is one of America's greatest heroes. Take the battle of New Orleans for example. A great victory for the States in the War of 1812. He was also a log cabin president, meaning he was born poor.
As Commander in Chief, Abraham Lincoln made numerous decisions that impacted the outcome of the war. He used a broad interpretation of his Oath of Office to justify nearly any action he took. Many of these actions overstepped the bounds of the Constitution, but all were made with the greater good of the country in mind. Despite having the best intentions, Lincoln did make mistakes throughout his presidency, such as how he handled the military.
Have you ever notice how people say “ The United States of America” like it was the best country in the whole world? I pretty much agree with that. People see the United States as if it was perfect, however, they never knew or know much about who are the heroes that helped our nation to be that perfect. One of is Abraham Lincoln, he was the 16th president of the United States and he is regarded one of America’s greatest hero due to his role as the Savior of the Union and emancipation of slaves. He helped the United States of America became united during the civil war, he also ended slavery, and lastly, he chose to lead his country into a better place and took the consequence of which is death.
Hero or Villain: Andrew Jackson Andrew Jacksons presidenicy was very complicated. He was a man that believed that the white folk should be treated evenly. The poor sohuld get momey like the rich, and the rich should get money the same way as the poor. Being a normal man, the rich disliked him for his opinions that did not fit the rich men and women their needs. The conflict with the Bank, and the Indian Removal act made Jackson a hero in my opinion.
Presidents are elected to preform and achieve greatness in America; they serve as the commander and chief of armed forces, and they find ways in coming up with agreements regarding trade and aid along with many other things. Being the president is obviously not an easy task. Have you ever thought about who you thought the best presient of the United States of America was? According to a debate in Taking Sides written by Larry Madaras and James SoRelle they presented an argument between Phillip Shaw Paludan and Melvin E. Bradford debating if Abraham Lincoln was America’s Greatest President. Many people agreed and disagreed whether or not President Lincoln was the greatest; however the sides of two professors were part in the Taking Sides issue of yes or no.

A good number of them were competent leaders who performed and were behind the ever-developing economy in the United States, good structure of leadership has also been the backbone of success in the country. Over hundreds of years America has had many presidents, some able to complete the tasks at hand, but many were not worthy of leading this nation. President Abraham Lincoln was one of the few who led the United States of America with great strength and courage. Abraham Lincoln was the best U.S. president because he had a great impact on ending slavery and he was one of the greatest natural strategists and leaders of all time. Abraham Lincoln is considered to be America 's wisest president. Abraham Lincoln, "proved to be a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader during what became the costliest conflict ever fought on American soil."
