When ranking the presidents a few that might instantly come to mind as the greatest might include George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. One that came to my mind was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I believe he made one of the biggest impacts on this country as a president. He helped America get through a very difficult time and lead us through more.

The events behind each major president has now become much more relevant to the reader because of the amount of history given. Washington, Lincoln, and Truman all deserve spots on this top 3 list whether it was because of ending slavery or aiding the Jews in Europe or even avoiding a mass murdering war, all three presidents deserve to be revered in

Presidents are elected to preform and achieve greatness in America; they serve as the commander and chief of armed forces, and they find ways in coming up with agreements regarding trade and aid along with many other things. He faced some obstacles when he was the president, however, due to his prowess in leadership he was able to overcome them by undertaking some changes that existed in the society and made the United States a better compared to other places. (Knudson, Jerry 103) Among his great developments as the president was the establishment of the US Department of Agriculture and others that included Homestead Act and Thanksgiving, he also brought great developments in higher education and led to resolving of the Civil War.

He focused more on Lincoln’s efforts to win the war instead of the other political things he accomplished during his presidency. Lincoln was a great commander-in-chief because he attempted to run the war and also maintain political stability at the same time. This was impressive because although he had no military experience, he was persistent in provoking his commanders to stay active and to always strive for victory. He wanted generals that would attack and destroy the Confederate army, and at the same time be able to work together as a team. Lincoln never strayed from his duties as president, even under extreme international, military, and political pressure.

As Commander in Chief, Abraham Lincoln made numerous decisions that impacted the outcome of the war. He used a broad interpretation of his Oath of Office to justify nearly any action he took. Many of these actions overstepped the bounds of the Constitution, but all were made with the greater good of the country in mind. Despite having the best intentions, Lincoln did make mistakes throughout his presidency, such as how he handled the military. However, these mistakes were not enough to tarnish Lincoln’s legacy. His actions as Commander in Chief were one of the leading reasons that the Union was victorious, and the Emancipation Proclamation earned him an everlasting spot in U.S. history.

Lee during these next couple of paragraphs I will explain how he showed leadership during the Civil War. Throughout the entirety of the war General Lee great leadership in leading his army tommany early victories. In my opinion George Washington is the strongest president. Why? becase he was a genral in the British army then left adn became the commander of the continental army he was a war hero and every one knew him. He was elected twice but not the third and not because no one voted for him but because he drop out because he wanted his own life.
