He believed the people should have the power to elect their president. Jackson also surrounded himself with people who supported him. He had replaced the “corrupt bargain” with the “spoils system” in doing this. During his during term he did not do much, but in the reelection his beliefs about the Second Bank of the United States was the main point that determined who would be the next president. Jackson won with flying colors and he was onto his second term.
One of the greatest actors of all time who decided to abandon his career to kill the president was John Wilkes Booth. Booth had a very complicated life; it led him to make wrong decisions, so for that reason, John Wilkes Booth is an ideal person to give advice to. A native of Bel-Air, Maryland, he lived from 1838 to 1865. He won acclaim as a contemporary Shakespearean actor in the 1850’s and 60’s (“John”). People admired his talent; however his life was much more complicated than that.
Back in the 19th century members were appointed to office using the spoils system, which pretty much means after winning an election, the political party or president gives government jobs to its supporters, friends, and relatives as a reward for working toward victory, and as an incentive to keep working for the party. After people became fed up with the spoils system and a disappointed officer assassinated President Garfield they started using the merits system. The merits system is the process of promoting and hiring government employees based on their ability to perform a job, rather than on political connections. The spoils system was developed about 150 years ago.

I believe that it is hard to correctly pin point the absolute reason why he was assassinated considering the fact that the only suspect they had in the case of J.F.K was shot and killed. Lee Harvey Oswald was a pretty accurate suspect considering the fact that Oswald bought a gun just days before the assassination and had been to Russia. Lyndon B. Johnson benefitted from J.F.K’s assassination because he was sworn into office, shortly after the president died. J.F.K. wanted to avoid conflict between countries and didn’t want to go to war. After J.F.K was assassinated and Lyndon B. Johnson became president people that wanted to go to war, got to go to war.

The assassination was unjust because he was so great to his country. By preserving the union during the civil war. Which eventually led to the freeing of the slaves ; the Emancipation Proclamation.
He and Sir. John A Macdonald were rivals because of the difference in Party’s, but then joined together to create the Confederation. In December 1865, George Brown retired from the government. Sadly, George Brown died on May 9th, 1880 due to assassination. He was murdered by George Bennett, a former employee of “The Globe”.
John F. Kennedy John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the US, was the first Roman Catholic president. John Kennedy’s early life was filled with various diseases, including scarlet fever. John Kennedy’s life in politics began in 1946, when he ran for a spot in the House of Representatives. Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Oswald, in Dallas, Texas was a shock to many people. Kennedy’s dad had high expectations for him, as a result, Kennedy was a better president.
He had certain opinions that we now know are wrong, but he was very ahead of his time and was a different type of president. For example, he wanted women to have the right to vote in 1836, which no president ever even thought about. Lincoln was a good man, overall. Abe, or Abraham as he liked to be called, has said a few questionable things. For example, in a debate, he revealed that he believed blacks and whites should not have the same rights.
It’s December 19th, 1998 and the trial for the impeachment of President Clinton is about to take place. He has been our president since 1993, and now they think he needs to be impeached for everything he has done. However, I do not think he needs to be impeached he is a very good president. So far throughout his presidential term he has created over six million new jobs. “As a part of the 1993 Economic Plan, President Clinton cut taxes on fifteen million low-income families and made tax cuts available to ninety percent of small businesses, while raising taxes on just 1.2 percent of the wealthiest people (whitehouse.gov, 2013).
He was also elected to the senate in 1930. He was a very smart man with a photographic memory and was a threat to FDR’s presidency in the 1936 election.(hueylong.com) Huey Long was impeached in the house but avoided it in the senate. He was a very successful politician and was a prime candidate for president in the 1936 election but tragic events threw him out of the election.(hueylong.com) Huey Long was assassinated in 1935, on September 8, and died two days later at age 42.
I believe that the best president we 've had so far is Abraham Lincoln because he faught to end things such as slavery and saught to create a country of peace. Many people admired him back then and people still do today for some of his most well thought out speeches such as the Gettysburg address in April 1865. This speech inluded the ideal goal of America as a whole which was human equality and explained further on the purpose of the war they are fighting. Lincoln was only president for 4 years (1861-1865) intil his term was sadly cut short when a man named John Wilkes Booth shot him at the Ford 's Theatre in Washington D.C. As Commander in Chief, Abraham Lincoln made numerous decisions that impacted the outcome of the war. He used a broad interpretation of his Oath of Office to justify nearly any action he took. Many of these actions overstepped the bounds of the Constitution, but all were made with the greater good of the country in mind. Despite having the best intentions, Lincoln did make mistakes throughout his presidency, such as how he handled the military.
