After narrowing down colleges that were intriguing, the final two choices are Peru State College and Southeast Community College (SCC) in Lincoln, NE. They have similarities like: they both have majors that are interesting and they both require and admission test. But, they have differences in things like: how much they cost and the distance that needs to be traveled. Both Peru State and SCC are good schools, so considering the details within each is important. No matter which school is decided, Peru State or SCC, a major can be chosen and a degree is in the future.

The speech was a very informative speech, addressing students with various facts and praises of the foundation of North Carolina Central University. NCCU is in fact praiseworthy. In 1910, James E. Shepard founded NCCU under the unique name, “National Religious Training School and Chautauqua for the Colored Race”. James E. Shepard was a pharmacist and religious educator, whom graduated from Shaw University, and later on in 1895, he married his wife Annie D. Shepard. Mrs. Shepard was the one who wrote the lyrics to North Carolina Central University 's Alma Mater, “Dear Old N.C.C”.

Taking all of these factors into consideration and thoroughly researching several colleges, I found that Cal Poly San Luis Obispo best met my requirements. According to US news, Cal Poly Slo has one of the best engineering programs in the nation. They also have one of the largest engineering programs in the west, with around 5,000 students (US News). Cal Poly’s large and prestigious engineering program would provide an excellent education and a strong support system to encourage learning. In addition, Cal Poly offers an advanced path that allows students to earn both their BA and MS in a blended program, seamlessly transitioning from undergraduate to graduate ("Graduate Degrees in Engineering”).
Over the past few years, there have been many arguments on the status of the original four-year college path, and how for most people, you only need to attend a two-year community college or take a few online courses to earn your degree. In Murray’s text, the classic four-year college experience is being challenged by recent findings that state it only take two years to learn the material necessary for a degree. From Murray’s examples, we can see that the internet is a little bit to blame for the deterioration of brick-and-mortar style colleges. It’s clear to see that through Murray’s text, his overall perspective is that within a few years time, the classical method of actually attending a four-year college or university will be considered

I would need a 1480 and above on my SAT to have the best chance of getting in, but 1385-1480 still has a pretty good chance as well. The ACT score must be a 33 and above to have my best chance. If I get a score that’s around 30-33, I would still have a pretty good chance. My GPA would have to be a 3.75 or above. Anyone with a GPA lower than that doesn’t have much of a chance at getting in.
