The Crisis Acid attacks are classified as a form of torture usually targeting women who have been "disobedient" or who refuse to accept their hand in marriage. What occurs is that the attacker throws some form of acid on the victims' body to destroy their skin. The chemicals commonly used are sulfuric acid, nitric acid and occasionally hydrochloric acid. Bangladesh is known to have the highest reported incidence of acid assault in the world and the majority of the victims are females. Acid attacks are usually commited for several reasons. Studies show that refusal of marriage proposals accounts for 55% of acid assaults, with abuse from husband/family member (18%), property disputes (11%) and refusal of sexual or romantic advances (2%) as other leading causes. Intimate Partner Violence Fatalities: Prevention and Intervention Intimate partner violence is considered the most life-threatening and distressing family issue on a societal platform (Hamilton, Jaffe, & Campbell, 2013). The term family is utilized loosely as familial depictions vary, but to be certain the family has two partners that can be diversified roles and gender. By definition intimate partner violence illustrates a pattern of behaviors that are deliberate and intended to gain power and control over another person (Hamilton, Jaffe, & Campbell, 2013). Intimate partner violence does not need to be necessarily violent actions, but can be verbal threats, isolation, neglect, and disempowering tactics. The series of behaviors and violence can hastily escalate and the probability of homicide increases in those relationship dynamics.
One of an impactful, historical tragedy in U.S history is the Boston Bombing. On April 15, 2013, at about 2:50 p.m., two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The bombs explode within 8-12 seconds of each other, and they were about 50-100 yards apart. 3 people got killed and more than 260 people got injured. The window of the store near the explosion were broken and a window on the third floor of the Boston Public Library was damaged.

The act was carried out by members of the Ku Klux Klan, people who disliked blacks and did horrible things because of this, in Birmingham, Alabama. To add on, the two bombers names are identified as Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. They were born in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan, but later became a U.S Citizen in 2012. On April 19th, 1995 Timothy McVeigh parked a rental Ryder truck in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, and lit a short fuse to a bomb on the truck that caused a huge explosion. The bombing killed 168 people, including 19 children that were in a daycare center within the building, and caused over 600 injuries. The Oklahoma City bombing is considered to be the worst domestic terroristic event in our nation’s history. On April 20th, 1995 the rear axle to the rental Ryder truck was discovered with a vehicle identification number that aided law enforcement to the location of where the rental truck was from.
