Background of the Study In the fast moving world, research has important intellectual equipment for the human beings to change their lifestyles according to needs and necessities of the society. Research opens new frontier in all fields like medicine, agriculture, business, education and also in nursing. Nursing research is research that provides evidence used to support nursing practices. An attitude may be defined as a predisposition to respond in a favorable or unfavorable Manner with respect to a given object (Oskamp and Schults, 2005). It is also commented that students are research phobic and that research has then become imitative, repetitive, instrument oriented rather that goal oriented. Sridevi (2010) said that other factors that affect the quality of research conducted by students are facilities available, Supervisors; attitude of both staff and students towards research, confidence e t c. Positive staff attitude toward research enhances enthusiasm and credibility among the students. One’s attitude towards research influences mentally how a person approach research, including all the work and human interactions related to that research. A positive attitude enable a person to solve the problem quickly where as a negative attitude hampers the efforts in research both technical proficiency and in terms of interpersonal relationships that research
