Adam Lanza was the man committing the Sandy Hook shooting. It was the biggest shooting ever in Connecticut. 20 children and six adults were killed. However there was a 27th person, Nancy Lanza, the mother was killed before. Something must have happened in Adam’s life. His family said almost nothing, he wasn’t popular and no imprint was left. There was a huge question… was his mom really innocent. Adam was the younger of two boys. Everybody said Adam was always quiet and kept to himself. In the cub scouts which both kids were in the leader said that Adam would always be mad at anybody who touched him. Nancy was a very protective of her children. When Adam was about five he got an IEP. They eventually moved to Connecticut. About 15 years …show more content…
That didn’t last long and he dropped off, he hated the changed and he changed schools a lot. The divorce happened in 2009 and in 2010, Adam stopped talking to his dad and brother. After that point he worked at a computer shop. Other than that little details were found of his life. Nancy and Adam would still shoot together and than showed him a lot of guns. She bought the ones he used to kill all those kids and herself. They even bonded over their interest over the activity of shooting. She tried to find a college that she was planning to enroll Adam at. He couldn’t handle the change. Adam wanted to be a history major as apposed to a science major. Adam still lived with her at 20 years old. Nancy Lanza volunteered at Sandy Hook Elementary School from 1998 to 2012, including periods when Adam was a student. Lanza wrote The Big Book of Granny, in which the main character has a gun in her cane and shoots people, and another character talks of liking to hurt people, especially children. Adam in school wrote horrible stories of killing too graphic to be shared. Adam Lanza hated his volunteer-teacher mother because he believed she loved her first-grade students more than him. The day before the shooting she had stayed two days at a New Hampshire hotel as part of an experiment in letting her son stay home alone and be independent. She was shot four times in the head by her son the morning after she returned. The rifle used to kill her was found by police next to her bed. Adam then went to the Sandy Hook Elementary school where he shot dead 20 first-graders and six educators with a semi-automatic rifle on December 14, 2012, before shooting

He’s not depressed he’s bored. The 39 deaths of Adam Strand is a book by Gregory Galloway is a young adult book that mainly focuses on this boy who has killed himself so many times now that he’s become a famous person in his small town. The tone of the book doesn’t seem like how the cover of the book would sound like most of the time. It can be a serious/comedic moment in the book at any time even though this person dies many times over and over. I’d recommend the book to people that like hearing about death
To possibly reverse some symptoms of these disorders, Adam would have needed medication and treatment, of which he was deprived of. The psychological dimension of Adam is prevalent to the shooting. Adam was a recluse his whole life who preferred to be isolated in his room with no contact from anyone outside. Adam blocked all of his windows with trash bags so no one could see inside, and also only had contact with his mother through email for a whole year. Because of his personality and behavior, Adam had no outlet to express his emotions too.
The memoir that I decided to read was The Other Wes Moore by Wes Moore. This story takes place in Baltimore, Maryland in the late 1970’s and switches towards the year 2000 at the end of the novel. Wes Moore, the author, was inspired to write this novel when he found out that there was a man with the same name as him who grew up in Baltimore. He decided to look further and meet this other Wes Moore and he wrote him a letter. The two finally met and this is where the story begins.

Society believed that the Sandy Hook shooting gave Obama evidence as to why we needed gun control.

Sandy Hook/Gettysburg Rhetorical Analysis Essay On December 14, 2012 President Obama addressed the nation in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Critics compared this speech to Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address speech giving to Americans in the war on November 19, 1863. The purpose of both speeches was to allow a form of comfort to the american people and to give the country a sense of togetherness or hope in some form. Both speeches were given in tragic times but the presidents were different in the way they addressed the people.
