If social media is allowed in schools this could increase cyber bullying because students are able to write hurtful messages attacking other innocent students the pressure to do certain things or act a certain way can be even worse on social media than it is at school. Some students have experienced cyber bullying through social media websites. Posting inappropriate content on social media could be one of the reasons why social media are not allowed in schools. This is because it is difficult to always watching how students use social media. A student may post inappropriate content such as pornography or bad message which would be both distracting and damaging to students. Using social media in the classroom can distract from face to face interaction. When interacting using these social media networks, the good far outweighs the bad and at the end of the day each network is successful. That depends on how you are using it. Facebook and Instagram could be the best platform for someone who would like to start a business, or it could be a negative source of peer pressure for a students. There are pros and cons to everything in life and that includes our social networking habits. When using any social media platform, take responsibility for your own safety and privacy.
