At a young age, he was introduced to football by his father and carried his team from pop Warner, to his current career in the NFL. Troy Anthony Davis October 9, 1968 – September 21, 2011 was an American man convicted of and executed for the August 19, 1989, murder of police officer Mark MacPhail in Savannah, Georgia. Troy was working at Burger King and he got accused of murder. There was another worker with Troy at Burger King. Troy Davis was convicted of murder and various lesser charges, including the earlier shooting Troy death day is August 1991. He was not guilty but everyone thought he shot the police officer Mark MacPhail and did not.

As an infant Troy had congenital problems with his feet causing him to have to wear braces up to his knees until he was 14 months old. That didn’t stop him from being an athlete. At age 12 he moved to Oklahoma where he fell in love with football. He was the quarterback for his team and continued to get all-state honors his senior year.

In the Nation Football League (NFL), Pat Tillman played the position of a Left Back, a position that requires a lot of pushing and tackling. The sport of football is taken for granted by many considering that all the players put their lives at risk each and every game. If Tillman tackled someone, he could become the bottom of a large dog pile which stopped his breathing. For instance, one NFL player sufferred such a big hit that he cracked his ribs (Voperian). In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.
