Course level NUR 427, applies to the extended role of nurses in family centered nursing care for clients and their families experiencing complex health conditions. Emphasis is put on the nursing care and management of complex health issues for patients across the lifespan in a variety of settings and must maintain a C average. To be able to graduate and receive my nursing degree I must maintain a C average and pass the LPN Exam at the end of the four years of nursing school. First time RN’s must receive their license by a final exam, they must take the board exam after they have completed and passed their registered nursing educational courses. The average annual wage for any registered nurse was $67,490.
Meaning more in depth classes and about another year of schooling. And if you choose a specialty the school to go with your nursing degree alone could increase anywhere from one to four years. Nurse Practitioner Interview I spoke with a friend’s sister, a recent graduate DNP, who works as a women’s health NP at a public health clinic system in Utah. Role The role of the women’s health care nurse practitioner can vary widely depending on the setting. J. Yale sees patients for both annual visits as their main care provider and for gynecological issues (personal communication, September 9, 2016). “Many people don’t realize you can do annual visits,” she said, “for example, I can treat someone for high blood pressure in the clinic, in an office setting.”

Over the Christmas break I was introduced to the Nurse Educator in the ICU at Toronto Western, I followed up with her in January and was able to complete a number of observational shifts in the ICU to enhance learning and understanding of what is required to work in a CC setting. Currently, I am completing my 3rd year community placement at The Hospital for Sick Children, and have reapplied to complete my 4th year consolidation there. I selected Operating Room and Perioperative care as my first choice of units to be placed. By completing my consolidation in the AC or CC areas I will gain valuable experience which will facilitate in procuring a position in these areas after graduation.

According to Buppert (2017), federal laws prevail over state laws when clarifying what rules the advance practice registered nurse (APRN) must follow. There are several guidelines listed within the Consensus Model for APRN that was created in 2008 by the APRN Consensus Work Group and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing APRN Advisory Committee (American Associations of Nurse Practitioners, 2017). I have listed several of the regulations that the APRN must follow below. • There is no standardized uniform model that regulates all APRN’s across the nation. Each state individually determines the legal scope of the APRN practice.
