Impressionism is an art movement that began in Paris in 1860.
It is a style of representational art that did not rely on illustrations. On the canvas, artists that were painting in this style tried to seek the optical effects of light to convey the passage of time, changes in weather and other shifts in the atmosphere. Also, the artists loosened their brushwork and used pure, intense colors on their pallets. The Impressionists also abandoned linear perspective and the clarity of form.
The painting on the right is an example of the Impressionistic style. It was done by ClaudeMonet, a famous artist that used this style. Impression Sunrise is set on Port of Le Havre,

The main color scheme of this painting is very muted and includes mainly earth tones such as grey and tan. Even his use of blue is very minimal and muted. The main building is illuminated by the sun coming from the left, outside of the scene. It shines on the central façade and the portion of the building in the background, as well as beneath the bridge. It shines the brightest where it comes through beneath the bridge and illuminates the bank of the river along with the people on it.
The painting has a light and smooth finish to finish to it, and at the same time the bold outlines of the male figures appear like a sketching. Little detail compared to the woman in the center of the canvas. The clouds are dark and made with

Chapter 19: Describe the impact of the printing press on the protestant reformation. Johann Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press led to mass production of information that was, for the first time, available to the public. The printing press created a new era of the informed individual with the ability to develop their own opinions. In the 16th century, the Roman Church’s Greedy and Immoral acts began to escalate; This made it clear that there was a need for change. One man, Martin Luther, noticed the offenses made by the church and decided to act by writing the 95 subjects he disagreed on with the church.
There was a focus point which is Saint Francis. Although the painting mainly consist of black and tan colors, the slight bright colors to balance of the black. This help bring out the details, such as the blessing on hands and the kneeling of people. Yet, the details were not too big that it would be too much to handle. This helps get the message across to the audience, like myself.
There is almost no contrast in this painting besides the subjects themselves in the painting. Particularly, the face on the right subject, he has the most detail with color and contrast out of the whole piece. Now the space of this picture is a bit of an illusion, because the way it’s painted it can change with how the viewer’s imagination perceives
The light change in the artwork from dark to light, displays a feeling from relaxation to adventurous and excitement. The male figure I the piece has a calm mood to him and wears a straw hat while reading a newspaper that demonstrates a sense of modernism. According to the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston (MFAH) Web site, “Capturing the specific light effects of midday, Gustave Caillebotte contrasts the cool colors of shade with the dazzling, flattening effects of direct sunlight” (2014, para. 1) Caillebotte creates a diagonal line that moves from the lower left
The Meeting of Joachim and Anna vs. The Annunciation While studying Renaissance art, particularly Italian art spanning from the 14th century through the 16th century, many similarities can be noted throughout paintings by various artists, yet major differences and variances can also be detected when it comes to the style that each artist chose to pursue. Each painting holds its own importance and displays its own outstanding aspects that make it great regardless of style. In Giotto di Bondone’s painting of The Meeting of Joachim and Anna from the Arena Chapel in Padua, Italy, the technique known as fresco was used. This type of painting technique uses colors that are applied to fresh plaster. Once these colors set and dry, the painting then becomes a

This is similar to the artist of the 19th century including Paul Cezanne(1839-1906) and Pierre Auguste Renoir(1842-1919).Both are from French. In addition Paul, Cezanne was a shy, rude and angry man.
