What is an Information System?
An organized system that is utilized for collecting, organizing, storing and communicating of data and information is called an information system – IS. An IS is comprised of a combination of different components like software, hardware, infrastructures, trained personal and human resources; these different components are utilized efficiently by organizations for planning, coordination, control and decision making.
• Operation – The management of an organization is dependent on both the relevant existing and gathered information. Information systems are able to provide more complete and up to date information which will ensure than an organization is run more efficiently.

Functions and uses of the college’s Information System:
• For student enrolment purposes
Inputs: Student information (name, address, etc.); student academic records (attendance, subjects they are taking, etc.); student grades (per subject and cumulative grades for a whole semester or school year, etc.)
Processes: The college makes use of the data that is input into the system to keep track of students’ academic progress and their achievements in respective courses or subjects.
Outputs: The college will be able to produce relevant output for external agencies that require evidence for students who request funding, loans and/or scholarships.
• Used by senior managers to monitor performance of different departments in the college
Inputs: Same as above. Student information and their academic records of students from all the different departments in the college.
Processes: The senior managers will use the inputted data to track the performance of the different department; to see which department has lots of students either excelling or failing,

Analysis: We can make this program by simply calculating total score divide by total subjects Required Input: 1 .Every student detail should be in one line and each student name must end with semicolon(:) 2.Grade of student has to be specified after semicolon in any format. 3.after all calculation type hyphen(-).
