Electronic Communication with Stakeholders When considering using digital media in the world of business there can be advantages and disadvantages compared to paper-based messages. This world is a proliferation of electronic and mobile technology that is rapidly emerging into organizations. Although, most companies are going paperless there is still a need for paper-based documents when there is a need for a permanent copy to maintain a long and formal message. The widespread evolvement of SMS cellular devices, instant messaging, podcasts, blogs, text messaging, Wikis and LinkedIn social media makes it easier to receive up-to-the-minute data ( Guffey, M., & Loewy, D., 2011). However, the use of digital media can create misunderstanding, uncertainty and embarrassment if it is not used in a professional manner. In my place of employment we use walkie talkies to communicate with each other throughout the store now these devices are not a form of digital media; however it is a way that we communicate with one another. When I am speaking on the walkie I keep my language, tone of voice and words well-mannered. Conversely, I hear conversations over the wallkie that are very unsuitable because the guests can hear everything that is said by the employees. For example, the store manager confronts a co-worker over the walkie which was obviously not the right approach and was embarrassing to the employee and myself as well.
