Abstract
In India, voting procedure strictly adheres to the principle of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM’S) known as offline E-Voting. EVM’S have the flexible characteristics like simple design, ease of use, reliability and fast accessing. Unfortunately these EVM’S are criticized for the irregularity reports in elections. So these criticisms leads to damaging the main objective of the voters and Election commission also faces arduous task to conduct free and fair elections. To decrease

Election may involve a public or private vote depending on the position. Most position in the local, state and federal governments are voting on in some type of election. Choosing a wrong representative brings a disaster to the notion. In developing countries like India, digitalisation has been improved and traditional voting systems like ballot paper voting system are obsolete and not secure these days. To avoid the fraud some countries are using EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines), but still there are some uncertainties associated with it, like security …show more content…
The concept of electronic voting systems is not a new one.. By using this system, the national voting system will be more secure, faster, easy to use. More security has been added compared to usual electronic voting machine by adding the fingerprint feature so that there cannot be any kind of cheating. The system provided by this paper goes the lengths to cover the necessities that met the requirement for a fair, transparent and reliable election tool. This project assures that, if this system is brought into practice it will reduce the rate of crime. This system is a small contribution for the fair process of election. Let's make our country smart and let's make our nation to become super-power.

This could be an opportunity for a case for fraud, since ID is not required or put in a data for this purpose. By the same token, disabled individual who are registered, should have a representative from the election committee to come their home, sign an affidavit and allow them to cast their vote at that time. Reason being anyone could pretend to be that individual. This should be an issue that concerns both parties. I am not quite sure of any other ways that fraud could be prevented.
It keeps the efficiency of the electoral college when counting votes, but adds more equal representation of the votes in the states, resulting in a more fair election. This system would be the most effective than both the electoral college and/ or direct
In my essay I will provide three reasons why I do not believe Texas is operating within a democracy-a political system where the many rule. According to Author Robert Dahl, a democracy should provide opportunities for effective participation, equality in voting and inclusion of adults. There are socioeconomic factors- such ethnicity, education and income which are mentioned by author of our textbook, that impact voter participation. To begin, let’s look at the role a person ethnicity plays in a democracy. Next, examine the level of education and how it correlates to voting.
Being a person of politics yourself, you of all people should know that many compromises have been made over the course of the establishment of the United States. However, some of the compromises, like the electoral college, were made because of factors in the past and are now not needed in today’s modern democracy. While the electoral college once worked as a compromise in the past, it is an archaic system that unfairly represents the votes of citizens all across the nation. A popular vote should instead be utilized to fairly choose the people of power in this country and would better represent voters’ opinions. In implementing the electoral college, most states’ votes either go to one candidate or the other, leading to candidates to only campaign in swing states (Bradford Plumer 13).
Have you ever asked yourself "how would the world be if there was no structure to allow people to vote for the person who is leading their country?". How about "Does my vote really count ?" or "does the opinion and choice of me, one person, really make a difference?". These questions aren't simply answered but should be seriously thought of by anybody who is a citizen of a country which has an established government and truly cares about the wellbeing and future of the country that they live in. I will be focused on the importance of voting for the president themselves is important. Individuals whom are over the age 18 and have a vailidated citisenship of the country they wish to vote on, have the opretunitiy to vote on several different ascepts of the government.
Mandatory voting makes large numbers of people vote, which will make the country run more efficiently because the election was based on the hopes and aspiration of the people for the future leader. Voting should be made compulsory because its positive effects exceeds its negative
First, a current photo ID will be required to vote. This could be a driver 's license, US passport, military ID card, or any photo ID issued by a government agency. For anyone without an acceptable photo ID, free voter ID cards will be offered at local government offices like the DMV or a county office. To get a voter ID card, the applicant must bring their social security card to the office and fill out a voter ID application.
This unfamiliarity and thought of the process being confusing deters the younger people from registering to vote in the first place. By removing this process, voters can just show up to cast their votes and move on with their day without worrying about this potentially confusing process. These three methods combined could increase the voter turnout for each
The Electoral College system is confusing. I'm ashamed to say that when I was casting my vote for a certain person; I had no clue all of the behind the scenes action. I'm actually voting for someone else(electors) who will vote for the same candidate as I have chosen but whose name doesn't appear anywhere on the ballot. . I heard of the Electoral College and Popular votes before but never really understand what it entailed. Voting is a process not just a checkmark to a name on a ballot.
Voter fraud is defined as a voter who imitates another voter and seeks to take that vote for that individual. However, some may argue that there haven’t been numerous real cases of voter fraud and used as a myth, but it is simple to commit voter fraud. A common form of voter fraud is selling votes; individuals may sell their votes as the voting doesn’t genuinely concern them. It is important to bring an ID when voting to confirm if you are the person who is going to vote. Many have argued that the past election could have been “rigged” but voter fraud is not considered rigging.
Throughout the recent years the majority of the able voting population are exercising their privilege to vote. Even during the presidential elections the voter turnout rate was 50% or less than that. The act of voting should be a personal responsibility of every citizen meaning it should be a obligation. But to specify on this statement, it should not lawfully required to vote because people also have the right not to vote too (and it would be weakening personal liberties) , but it should be a personal responsibility for citizens if they are to complain about how the government run rather than every citizen. A personal responsibility is when we are the cause of our own actions.
Everyone has the right to vote, but many don’t take that opportunity. In the article “Should Voting Be Mandatory?” Eric Liu tells us that “mandatory voting would prompt more Americans to pay attention to the choices;” people usually never pay attention to their choices, and then complain about it later when everything has already happened. (Par 5). Mandatory voting means that every citizen of the age of 18 and above that has a right to vote must vote.
Voting represents the collective choice, during the voting process, individuals' preferences are taken together, and eventually they aggregate their diverse opinion into a social choice. Although there are many alternative voting systems, they cannot always deliver in all situations. The reason is stated by Arrow, and it shows that it is impossible to find a perfect system. Therefore, it is important to weigh up the strength and weakness, then choose appropriate method among various alternative
In the United States, people always talk about freedom and equality. Especially they want elections could be more democratic. In American Democracy in Peril, Hudson’s main argument regarding chapter five “Election Without the People’s Voice,” is if elections want to be democratic, they must meet three essential criteria, which are to provide equal representation of all citizens, to be mechanisms for deliberation about public policy issues, and to control what government does. Unfortunately, those points that Hudson mentions are what American elections do not have. American elections do not provide equal representation to everyone in the country.
Many people believe that the election plays the most important role in democracy. Because a free and fair election holds the government responsible and forces it to behave on voter's interest. However, some scholars find evidence that election itself is not enough to hold politicians responsible if the institutions are not shaping incentives in a correct way. In other words, the role of the election on democracy, whether it helps to serve the interest of the public or specific groups, depends on other political institutions. I
