As population on the earth keeps expanding, human needs increase endlessly causing more global environmental problems to proliferate globally. Global environmental crisis has become an unequivocal fact that can affect our livelihood and it is capable of changing the current landscape drastically. Hence, people hold the responsibility to tackle current global environmental issues to make this world a better place. With destructive natural disasters like flash floods or snowstorm as well as the changing of weather patterns, the earth is poised at the precarious verge of severe environmental crisis. Human intervention has caused many dysfunctions to the environment, some of which have left damages on the ecosystem that eliminates other sources of necessity to other living things. Ever since humans start to harvest the Earth 's resources, many landscapes have been altered to fit the lifestyles of countless inhabitants. So people ought to be aware of other types of environmental challenges that the planet is facing. Some of the challenges that the planet is facing include overpopulation of human beings that leads to natural resources depletion, deforestation and loss of biodiversity, acid rain and ocean acidification, pollution and waste disposal. Every citizen of this earth has to overcome these challenges together in order to conserve, restore and preserve this damaged ecosystem. These actions are necessary to catch the attention of the public to have an open eye on what the
As an economics major, we are often trained to believe that real, societal change can only be achieved through a top-down approach. The field of economics, particularly macroeconomics, emphasizes the scale and importance of market mechanisms and government fiscal and monetary policies in addressing societal issues, as well as environmental problems. This perspective creates the belief that significant change can only be attained through large-scale, top-down methods. I, myself, was a strong believer of this mindset. From a young age, I have always been interested in environmental science and have written many research papers and projects on issues such as deforestation and habitat destruction, particularly in the Amazon rainforest.
Since the beginning of mankind, there have been many examples of humans developing both positive and negative relationships with the environment. From early Native Americans preciously cultivating and restoring their natural surroundings, to large manufacturing conglomerates of the modern age polluting air and water without regard, the interaction between humans and their environment has been both productive and destructive in various ways. By evaluating that it is much more important for a developing civilization/nation to conserve and protect its resources rather than fully develop them, we can completely understand the unique impacts that the human race has had on the environment, and how significant the negative gaffes and consequently,
To decrease climate change, citizens can garden, reduce the use fossil fuels, and monitor where their food comes from. These life changes can make the ordinary citizen a combatant against global warming and climate
According to Nebel and Wright, “four basic principles are essential for achieving a sustainable ecosystem, the goal of the environmental movement. They are: (1) recycling elements in order to dispose of wastes and replenish nutrients; (2) using solar energy; (3) maintaining the size of consumer populations to prevent overgrazing; and (4) maintaining biodiversity.” An ecological emergency can happen when any of these domains are settled with compromise. While people are destroying the tropical rainforests, they don’t realize that they are destroying 40% of the world’s supply of oxygen. 40 million acres of tropical rainforest are being lost annually to deforestation and humans destroying the Earth.
Introduction: Genetically modified organisms can be defined as organisms in which the DNA has been changed in a way that does not occur naturally by any reproduction procedure. The enviropig is just one of many organisms that they did experiments on to modify it to have specific (needed) outcomes. The reason for genetic modification is to be able to change a product or organism so that it deliver desirable traits. The enviropig was created to solve the problem of pigs not being able to absorb enough phosphorous from their diet, which then in its turn contributes to the larger factor of pollution.
Life environment is very important to human beings. But now, the environment is more and more polluted and pollution has become a serious problem in the modern life. I remember when I was a little girl my hometown was so little with hardly any stores. You could drive through town with the smell fresh air all around you. Now however, it has grown so much, too much, you drive through town and all you can smell is smoke from the factories.
In recent years, the topic of saving the Earth from Humans has shown itself in many conversations amongst the people of the public. Saving the World will be an issue we must solve in the near future because we are causing a mass extinction for animals, and we are harming and killing humans, but we can resolve it by using technology to reduce global warming and setting aside reserves. The most important thing humans must do in regards to this topic is begin to educate themselves and others on how drastic we must be in regards to it. The first major issue that must be made clear is the great peril animals are in, and what this means for the planet and humans.
International trade is also knows as a globe trade which give the country opportunity to expands their markets for both good and services that otherwise may not have been available in other countries. This type of trade also give advantages for world to rise the economy in term of prices, supply and customer demands, affect and are affected by global events. All of the good and services can be found on international market. International trade will involve two types of process which be export and import. Export is a function of international trade in which the goods produced in a country will be sent to another country for future sale or trade.
Imagine you live in a world where there are no plants, forest, animals, or oceans all there is in where these things us to be is concrete, landfills of garbage, and buildings. This is what will transpire if we do not protect or wildlife, wildlife conservation is a very important situation as it helps keeps plants and animals off the endangered list. According to the World Wild Life organization there are twenty-six endangered animals and twenty-one critically endangered animals this is very overwhelming as animals are an important part of our environment and ecosystem. With human population increasing at an alarming rate, with the growing rate of humans there is going to be less land for animals and plants, more man-made pollution and plastic debris will go into the oceans, lakes, and streams.
In the earth we share and spend our life with the humans, animals, and plants even the inanimate , and from our unity consist the life and vibrancy. Every element is important to maintain a normal life, every one of them dependent on the other to be together to make a model of continuous life. one of the leading human responsibilities save the natural resources of the land like creatures that dramatically affect each series and even one component can affect the life cycle.
Review of Literature Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7). It is quite evident that environmental issues are not treated in equivalence to political, economic, social or even religious issues.
Our earth’s natural resources are rapidly dwindling and our environment is being increasingly degraded by human activities, it is evident that something needs to be done. We often feel that managing all this something that the government should
Balance of natural processes like pollution is crucial to the survival of the eco-system and human activity threatens the same. Another example is the destruction of coral reefs in the various oceans, which support the rich marine life. •
Globalization is a process of linking the world through many aspects, from the economic to the culture, the political. in different nations. This process uses to describe the changes in society and in the world economy, by creating a linkage and increasing exchange between individuals, organizations or nations in cultural perspective, economics on global scale (Globalization 101, n.d.). A process of creating many opportunities but also causes many challenges for all the nations in the world, particularly for developing countries. There are so many advantages that globalization brings to developing countries like free trade, technology transfer and reducing unemployment.
Nowadays, environmental degradation has become an important issue. This is because environmental degradation is one of the largest threats that is being looked at in the world today. This is because of the depletion of important resources such as air, water, and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; habitat destruction; the extinction of wildlife; and pollution. To limit the impact of these situations, it is important to know the possible side-effects of environmental degradation. Therefore, there are several causes and negative effects of environmental degradation provided in this essay with some recommendations to prevent it.
