In North Africa, there are mainly 4 types of farming system which is highland mixed , rainfed mixed, irrigated and dryland mixed farming system. The most common type of agriculture farming system in North Africa is highland mixed system which consist of two major subsystem and they can affect each other, it support 30% agriculture in North Africa in 2001.The first system is dominated by rainfed cereal and legume crop , tree crop ,vegatable crops, commonly it is comprise primarily of monocultures. At summer season ,it need to provide some supplementary irrigation in order to plant crops just like melons that are high water content and nutrient content fruits. Second system is mainly base on livestock (mostly is sleep) on grazing lands surrounding these cropped area. it is also a kind of transhumance system which means it repuires to migrating between lowlands and uplands as the charge of season and resources. The advantage of highland mixed farming system is increasing the competition from subsidized imports of meat and dairy products which impoverish small local producers as it provide larger farming area for them. Also, it reduces the water erosion by use of terraces as reducing the slope in order to maintain the soil content for farming, therefore it prevents nutrient content flushed by water.

Rainfed mixed system is dominated by tree crops just like olives, fruits in more humid areas while rainfed mixed system is dominated by cereal in drier areas. This type of farming system is diversified as there is a seasonal interaction with livestock owners in use of residus from crop and other
Near the equator, we find the Fertile Crescent, strip of land in the MIddle-East. Its’ climate is dry, and semi-arid. Lacking lots of moisture, with lots of sunlight. Here, we can see that a dominant crop in this land is wheat. Wheat is a cereal grain, which does not require lots of water to grow.
Pollan compares Naylor’s Farm and the Polyface Farm to understand the differences between organic and conventional farming. In organic farming, there are no synthetic
It is of concern to me that Congressmen that own farmland are not mandated to publicly state who they are. These secret subsidies means that most Congressional farmers are profiting instead of independent farmers. This is money that could circulate in that independent farmer’s community that go to a white collar businessman. So why did the House and the Senate mutually agree to not list the Congressman with shares in the farming industry?
Sharecropping and tenant farming were two types of farming in post Civil War Mississippi. Many acres of fields were destroyed and the Mississippi economy was very damaged after the Civil War, so there was a lot of pressure put on to the farmers to get the post-war Mississippi economy running smoothly again. Many newly freed slaves and other Mississippians resorted to sharecropping and tenant farming, which have many similarities and differences. Sharecropping and tenant farming share many similarities. Firstly, both tenant farmers and sharecroppers worked another man’s land and did not have a farm or land of their own.
Places that have sparse or seasonal rainfall could not sustain agriculture without irrigation. In areas that have irregular precipitation, irrigation improves crop growth and quality. By allowing farmers to grow crops on a consistent schedule, irrigation also creates more reliable food supplies. In document 3 it says "These irrigation systems was the first of their kind and allowed Mesopotamia to grow a surplus of wheat and other crops." this shows why irrigation systems are important and how they impacted the world.
According to document B, during this time farmers are able to work on other jobs for money to keep their farm going. Seasons are based on the Nile River. According to document B, “the Akhet is the flooding season, the Peret is the planting and growing season, and the Shemu is the harvesting season.” “In the Peret, the Nile is still high enough for irrigation, but not high enough for floods.
“Why is Agriculture Important In Tennessee?” Agriculture, the basis of the world’s food source, is a very large portion of the average American’s diet; as well as the main source of clothing material. Agriculture is important in Tennessee for this reason. Agriculture is not only crops, but includes the entirety of merchandise on a farm. The diet of the average American includes a massive amount of these resources.
Examples include dairy farming, raising beef cattle, and raising sheep for wool. In contrast, arable farming concentrates on crops rather than livestock. Finally, Mixed farming incorporates livestock and crops on a single farm. Some mixed farmers grow crops purely as fodder for their livestock; some crop farmers grow fodder and sell it to pastoral farmers. Pastoral farmers are also known as graziers and in some cases pastoralists.
Some examples are commercial farming, shifting cultivation, and pastoral nomadism. Each of these types of farming vary vastly from each other, and are spread out across regions of the world. Commercial farming is found mainly in the US, and it mainly used for sale. It is so popular in the US because of all of the large markets and grocery stores. Shifting cultivation is popular in the tropical regions of Latin America, Sub-Saharan africa, and Southeast Asia.
Mainly everywhere else has a low fertility rate and those areas also have more food for people to eat. Next, we need to use all the potential for growing food that Africa offers. In document seven you can use the chart to see that there is a lot of land resources growing space available. The middle of Africa is full of potential.
The Farm Service Agency was formed to support farmers in times of need by offering loans, payments, and disaster relief programs. Because the risks that can come with growing food depend on the economy, food preferences and acts of nature, the government felt it was necessary to protect the people and operations that provide food for Americans. The controversies that have arisen in the last few decades regarding the FSA center on the way the assistance has been distributed and the fact that Americans now import much of their foodstuffs. According to the FSA, their agency provides services to farm operations including loans, commodity price supports, conservation payments, and disaster assistance.
Human civilization evolved over a period of time. People’s life, behaviour and adoption have been changed from gathering and hunting to urbanization stage. In the beginning, people were depending on gathering and hunting then they reached the stage of cultivation of crops and this way agriculture began. At that time people did agriculture from bare hands, later on, plough developed. At that time, agriculture production is low because of lack of agricultural knowledge and technological inputs were also low which bind the whole family to work in agriculture fields.
Food Insecurity The continuous increasing demand for the food requires the rapid improvement in food production technology. In a country like Ethiopia, the economy is mainly based on agriculture and the climate conditions are isotropic, still we are not able to make full usage of agricultural resources. The main reason is the lack of rains and scarcity of the land reservoir water in some areas of the country.
Agriculture is the modification of Earth’s surface through the cultivation of plants and animals through the cultivation of plants and animals to obtain economic gain. It was also a key development for the rise of the domestication of animals. Although, its origins cannot be documented for certainty because agriculture began before recorded history, scholars believe that it was started in Southwest Asia. Also, agriculture entails selective breeding of animals with combinations of inherited characteristics that benefits humans. Around the world, agriculture’s steps are the same, but the type of animals that were raised or cultivated differently.

Social sustainability With the human population continuing to rise, it is vital that the agricultural industry becomes more sustainable to meet the needs of the growing population. One of the impacts of this growing population is an increase in land usage for settlement purposes.
