Social networking websites are really social?

Since the Internet has become widespread all around the world, communication turned out to be easier and effortless. Thus, interactions with people and socializing via the Internet came to our lives not only with its benefits but also with maleficence. The Internet is a technological advance that provides people to reach everything online. Nevertheless, the Internet is used to socialize. This thing made life easy but people kind of lazy because so many people seem to stuck at home willingly, instead of going out to make a change during the day. They may not catch the bus or the flight or they may not attend weddings or funerals. Moreover, the social networking sites kill some quality time causing it to go to waste instead of working. Also, that addiction may be the reason of lack of intimacy since friends do not invite each other or meet in public reflecting the concerns of maintaining a genuine relationship. One of the disadvantages of social networking sites is loss of sincere feeling that bring shallow, pointless, emotionless conversation or superficial dialogue. The other one is having less face-to-face interactions. Because communications became mostly virtual and online. Connections necessary within an office and even in a family have been lost. Spouses and siblings rarely seeing each other’s faces or coworkers, colleagues not spending some time together unlike they used to do. These are the main consequences and bad side-effects of the websites. All in all, social media and those kind of websites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram make people less social based on the fact that it ruins most friendships.
