The American civil war fought in U.S.A from 1861-1865. The war broke out in April 1861 over slavery, when confederates attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina after Abraham Lincoln was inaugurate. Before the war, the north and south differed on the economic issues. The war was about slavery. The north wanted economic expansion which would change the south way of life. North held many advantages over the south during the war and its population was more then south. The south lacked the number of factories and industries. The north had better transportation network mainly highways, canals and railroads which was useful to the supply of the military forced. The source of money in the south was the cotton crops not factory. Most of the cotton came from plantation where large number of slaves was forced to work and they were not paid and were treated badly. They worked for long hours and were not given opportunity to learn. The south’s economy was reliant on slave work which appeared to crumple without the slaves. …show more content…

In north Slavery had died and was replaced by the cities and factories by immigrant labor from Europe. Transportation was easier in the north. Economy was increasing. North belonged to Republican political party and they were more likely to have business, medicine and engineer as their career was six times and engineers were more likely to be from north then from South. North children were more educated then southerners. Even the arms and weapon were in short supply in south. Men had to bring their own guns. Soldiers lacked simple things such as shoes. North had enough of food to feed the people and it had many industries to produced arms which soldier needs for the
