YouTube is a website that allows users to upload content, particularly a small video that can be viewed online. YouTube gives viewers an opportunity to view worldwide content from short videos, to television series, news, movies even advertisements.
The site allows users to upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, and it makes use of Web M, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, and Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media video. Available content includes video clips, TV clips, music videos, movie trailers, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. Apparently YouTube is more in use for promotion of products, providing sponsorship, etc making consumers aware of their products and moreover learn about their advantages and disadvantages accordingly.

As the world's largest video platform, YouTube has had impact in many fields, with some individual YouTube videos having directly shaped world events. As people are more connected to the new media and it's channel, YouTube is counted as on medium and that's a reason why it's creating a social impact.
