Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information, ideas and personal messages in virtual communities and networks. Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social media as “a group of internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0 and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content.” In web 2.0 terms, social media is a website that is interactive and responsive by not giving information only but interacts with the users while giving the information.

Some efforts may seem ineffective as some views are censored, some are spun and some are left untouched. People should be aware of the real situation to prevent them from being influenced by the spin and lies. They should be able to analyze the real situation and differentiate between true or false claims made by certain party. 3.0 Issues relating to social media spinning
