Abstract—Buildings are complex products containing relatively large numbers of distinct parts that are collected in multiple assemblies for different design, analysis and production purposes. Modeling buildings in fully parametric 3D computer-aided design
(CAD) systems offer numerous benefits in terms of productivity, the ability to rapidly generate design alternatives at different levels and elimination of errors that result from the disparity between different

Solid modeling provided for the representation of volume-enclosing sets of surfaces and powerful editing operations that allowed single operations for gluing shapes together or subtracting one shape from another, while preserving volume-enclosing properties. Solid modeling operations combined with curved surface editing of the solid’s faces (their bounded surfaces) allowed easy definition of any 3D shape on a computer and enabled assembly of multiple shapes. Solid modeling allowed many of the original goals of 3D CAD to be realized: accurate representation of a three-dimensional shape; automatic derivation of any shape measurement, including volume and surface areas; cutting of sections, including automatic derivation of section properties; automatic drawing generation of parts or assemblies, with automatic dimensioning. Solid modeling also allowed automatic checking of spatial interferences between assemblies, and with fully defined shapes, sufficient information was available to support numerical control machining or other fabrication
1.1. Creating objects & Right side panel – brief This panel is the main medium that is used to create ( ) objects, I can also modify ( ) and edit objects as well in addition I can alter different aspects in 3ds max as well. I could also alter the pivot point (gismo) and decide where it origin point is.
1. Request: The industry of construction is an industry where a firm has to be precise and very accurate. This is why I will be requesting that the superiors in my company purchase a piece of software Chief Architect, and revert from using their current software Sketch-up. This task will require persuading because the owners of the company think that using open-source software like Sketch-up will be sufficient.
Comparisons on Scoring Systems This section will focus on the point systems of the selected four building assessment systems. The point structures of these systems will be discussed and compared in the end. Starting from the BREEAM building assessment system; this system as many other building assessment systems use a single point system for each credit in the related assessment category. Since the weightings of the assessment categories changes, the points gained from the categories that has high available points is very crucial for the owner to get an accredited certification from BREEAM.
I chose to look into the area of architecture and Brunelleschi’s design of the dome for Florence’s cathedral. The creation of the dome was started because the structure of the building required more of a dome shape than the buttresses and pointed arches that surrounded areas used. However, a domed roof of that large of a scale had never been attempted before, so there were many questions: could a dome that weighs tens of thousands of tons stay up without the traditional structures? Was there enough timber in Tuscany to create scaffolding and templates needed to shape the dome? Could a dome be built on the octagonal floor plan already in existence without collapsing inward as it arced toward the apex?
The first work of art that I am going to analyze, titled Smokey, is an example of 3D art. The artist, Luke Sides, used the additive casting technique of sculpting to created his cast iron bust. It is on display in The Arts Gallery at Collin College. This year 's exhibition, titled The Arts Faculty, was visited on September 5th. This sculpture is representational, and it 's form is portrayed on a large scale that is out of proportion when compared to the presumed size of what it represents.
Explain the significance of the “Brick House”. The “Brick House” portrays certain characteristics that of Grandfather and Grandmother Connor. The “Brick House” is symbolic of Grandmother Conner’s stability and assurance. Additionally, it is a representation of Grandfather’s unfeeling demeanor, as well as his silent strength and power.
Mankind has always faced many natural obstacles, one of them being the harsh elements of the weather. In order to protect themselves, humans began to build shelters to keep warm and survive. This acted as the roots that gave rise to the industry of architecture. As time has passed and societies have come and gone, the advancements in architecture have continued to grow, but never again has there been a time more influential and lasting on architecture than the era of the Greeks and Romans. Their architectural achievements revolutionized modern architecture in a way that is still being used to this day.
This includes: i. Use Function Parameter: This is the default option and it uses function type parameter of walls, floors and building pads to determine the building elements considered to be part of the building envelope. ii. Identify Exterior Elements: Uses a combination of ray-casting and flood fill algorithms in order to identify the building elements that are exposed to the outside of the building, the building
A mesh typically includes many vertices that are connected by edges and faces, which give the visual appearance of form to a 3D object or 3D environment.
Everywhere we go we see many different types of building constructions. Throughout the years construction workers have been finding new ways how to make an incredible structures or households. We are seeing new configurations on buildings that look very nice, especially the fancy hotels. Although many firefighters have been keeping a close eye how construction workers are constructing a building. Many firefighters have lost their lives because of building collapse or because the building losts it 's intergrity.
Frank Lloyd Wright is considered to be the pioneer of modern architecture. He created an identity for American architecture, while rejecting Neoclassical and Victorian style designs. Wright called this “organic architecture”. It is architecture that is simple, yet modern and co-exists with architecture. He provided a new perspective on architecture and “The American Style”.
Introduction: The term 'advanced development technology ' in construction industry covers an extensive variety of present day techniques and practices that envelop the most recent improvements in materials technology, design methodology, amount studying, offices management, administrations, structural examination and design, and management skills used in construction industry. Technological advancements in different fields such as medical industry, business industry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering etc. have brought many positive impacts. Fusing advanced development technology into construction industry can expand levels of value, proficiency, safety, maintainability and incentive for money. The advanced technologies in construction industry are very useful for all type of small and large scale construction projects.
Walking up to the magnificent La Pedrera building the first thing I had to see was the pillar known as the elephant's foot. This pillar is notorious and was mentioned in the reading due it occupying too much space on the sidewalk of Passeig de Gracia. During construction Gaudi was informed of this by the government and told to make modifications, but Gaudi wouldn't budge. He wrote a letter back to the government and stated that if he were to modify the pillar, he would include a mocking inscription that would be-little the government. Fortunately the government rethought their demands and the pillar wasn't changed but this small aspect of the construction process I find awesome.
Decorative Choices For Your New Concrete Driveway If you 're tired of the maintenance needs of a dirt or gravel driveway, then it 's time to consider installing something more permanent. One option is concrete. Concrete driveways are durable and they can be stylish too. You generally have more options with concrete than you do with asphalt since concrete is lighter in color and can be dyed easily.
Tectonics is defined as the science or art of construction, both in relation to use and artistic design. It refers not just to the activity of making the materially requisite construction that answers certain needs but rather to the activity that raises this construction as an art form. It is concerned with the modeling of material to bring the material into presence - from the physical into the meta-physical world (Maulden, 1986). Since tectonics is primarily concerned with the making of architecture in a modern world, its value is seen as being a partial strategy for an architecture rooted in time and place therefore beginning to bring poetry in construction. Tectonics, however, has the capacity to create depth-ness of context resulting in the implicit story being told by the tectonic expression.
