Cloud computing represents a major change in how we store information and run applications. Instead of hosting apps and data on an individual desktop computer, everything is hosted in the "cloud"—an assemblage of computers and servers accessed via the Internet.
This type of web-based computing frees you from the tyranny of desktop computing and opens up new forms of group collaboration. But as attractive as all that sounds, cloud computing isn't for everyone. Let's take a look at how the average end user can benefit from cloud computing—and why some end users should avoid these web-based applications, at least for now.
Advantages of Cloud Computing
We'll start with the many advantages offered by cloud computing. Here's what you get when you

You don't need a high-powered and high-priced computer to run cloud computing's web-based applications. Since applications run in the cloud, not on the desktop PC, your desktop PC doesn't need the processing power or hard disk space demanded by traditional desktop software. When you're using web-based applications, your PC can be less expensive, with a smaller hard disk, less memory, more efficient processor, and the like. In fact, your PC in this scenario doesn't even need a CD or DVD drive, as no software programs have to be loaded and no document files need to be saved.
Improved performance. With fewer bloated programs hogging your computer's memory, you'll see better performance from your PC. Put simply, computers in a cloud computing system boot and run faster because they have fewer programs and processes loaded into memory.
Reduced software costs. Instead of purchasing expensive software applications, you can get most of what you need for free. That's right—most cloud computing applications today, such as the Google Docs suite, are totally free. That's a lot better than paying $200+ for similar Microsoft Office software—which alone may be justification for switching to cloud

Cloud computing offers virtually limitless storage. Your computer's current 200 gigabyte hard drive is peanuts compared to the hundreds of petabytes (a million gigabytes) available in the cloud. Whatever you need to store, you can.
Increased data reliability. Unlike desktop computing, in which a hard disk crash can destroy all your valuable data, a computer crashing in the cloud shouldn't affect the storage of your data. That also means that if your personal computer crashes, all your data is still out there in the cloud, still accessible. In a world where few individual desktop PC users back up their data on a regular basis, cloud computing is the ultimate in data-safe computing.
Universal document access. Ever get home from work and realize that you left an important document at the office? Or forget to take a file with you on the road? That's not a problem with cloud computing, because you don't take your documents with you. Instead, they stay in the cloud, and you can access them whenever you have a computer and an Internet connection. All your documents are instantly available from wherever you are; there's simply no need to take your documents with
Yes. This would be an adequate solution for what Mr. Ortiz would need. Mr. Ortiz wants to use Web-Based applications, Which will be built in a website requiring an active internet connection. Mr Ortiz doesn’t need much hard drive space, or a good processor. Scenario 2-1
This software was a 10 to 15 years investment for the company; unfortunately, everyone hates this system and is frustrated for not doing the job effectively. Our organization is dealing with difficult situation where it is too late to go back to the old functional system and it is very expensive to move forward with full functionality. We are currently manage the issue by paying for enhancement for things that we must have and using alternative system for the ones we
Ugly and brutal but it could be set up. I was able to find a management software tool on line that is designed to accomplish backups through an automated system. A third party cloud storage vendor called Code42 seems to offer a tool to manage backup function throughout the enterprise. Code42s’
You can even serve web apps directly out of CouchDB Web Server – LAMP stack is a popular open source web platform commonly used to run dynamic web sites and servers. It includes Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP/Python/Perl and is considered by many the platform of choice for development and deployment of high performance web applications which require a solid and reliable foundation
Not only will these innovations improve network strength, but possibly the speeds at which a client can access information from an application server. This has the potential to make cloud computing even more prevalent than it already is today because it would become easier to keep up with mass traffic to the servers. Large server banks would be able to be downsized slightly compared to their current sizes. The computer science techniques used in created Marple show that it is possible to even make an old process useful in modern applications. The hardware of Marple is also programmable making it extremely useful for any network engineers because they will be able to write custom software for Marple-based
I addressed this question in two parts, first what would I do from technology perspective and then format and key items that will be part of my Disaster Recovery (DR) Plan Like I mentioned earlier, in the next 10-15 years with cloud computing all my information will be on virtual servers. Developing a virtual backup strategy depends on a few factors such as the service levels required and the suitability of existing backup products. To start with virtual servers can’t be backed up like physical ones, with an agent per virtual machine, because of the I/O and CPU bottlenecks created. Virtual machines are much harder to track for backup purposes. Previously a physical server hosted an application and that one-to-one relationship was almost never broken.
Prevalent storage choices include the S3 (Amazon Simple Storage Service), EBS (Elastic Block Store) and Amazon CloudFront. Amazon Simple Storage Service offers Web Service based storage and it is a totally redundant storage offering that can process any amount of data at anytime and anywhere on the Web. It can be used for backup, record and calamity recovery, and content storage, allocation and data analysis storage. S3 is current as part of the free Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) tier service for 5GB of storage, 20,000 Get Needs or 5,000 Put Needs per month.
Reduce the boot time the user will be able completing the work quicker. Faster transfer keep up the work progress for example staff could get the information they need on time. Security is one of the errors as Microsoft is not delivery any security update
Laptops include components and inputs of a desktop computer; include the display, speakers, web camera, microphones, a keyboard and a pointing device. Personally I use my laptop for educational reasons, for entertainment and for remote connection to my job desktop, this help me to work from abroad. As I mentioned before I have an android base mobile phone basically for communication reasons and entertainment purposes some of the times I use it also to for web applications and read articles for information. One Drive for Business is a cloud place where I can store, sync, and share my work files. As part of Office 365 or SharePoint Server 2013, One Drive for business lets me update and share my files from anywhere and work on Office documents with others at the same time.
Additionally, risks associated with outage or lock-in of a single CSP are reduced. This provides a high level of availability and reliability for the service. Observation_2: CSUs can use different types of devices, for example, a laptop or a mobile device to access the storage service. A CSP uses notification servers to synchronise the CSUs’ files between the devices. Observation_3: As seen in the model, each CSP uses a database server to store and manage metadata.
1. Define the following terms: GIS; A geographic information system is system made to capture, store, manipulate, analyse, manage, and present spatial or geographical data. FOSS; Free or Open Source Software. FOSS programs have licenses that allow users to freely run the program for any purpose, modify the program as they want, and also to freely distribute copies of either the original version or their own modified version. ILWIS; Integrated Land and Water Information System is a GIS / Remote sensing software for both vector and raster processing.
I 'm not going to say that all of us have one or two outdated desktop computers rolling around the house. Some people have never been into computers, obviously. But, quite a few of us have a couple of these old machines that we just don 't want to get rid of. Call it being sentimental, but these desktops have served us well for a while and it doesn 't feel right just kicking them out.
Cloud By using Cloud, Starbucks could set up a cloud-based coffee selling machine. It offers self-service. Customers can make their own coffee by selecting the coffee beans they like, the amount of sugar etc. It creates excellent customer experience to enhance customers’ loyalty. Moreover, this technology could keep track of its customers’ consumption patterns and buying behaviors.
The amount of time the business spent in handling routine paperwork, the chaotic condition of its financial records as well as the cost of hiring part-time workers, moved Mr Martin Abella to suggest radical change in making the business get computerized since he is
