Introduction
There is a perception that quantitative research is much trusted because it is claimed to be systematic. But what is quantitative research? Quantitative research is explaining phenomena by collecting numerical data that are analysed using mathematically based methods. Quantitative research also refers to social research that employs both empirical methods and empirical statements. (Cohen, 1980) He says that an empirical statement is defined as a descriptive statement about what “is” the case in the “real world” rather than what “ought” to be the case. On the other hand, empirical statements are typically expressed in numerical terms. Furthermore, empirical evaluations are applied in quantitative research. Empirical evaluations refers to a form that seeks to determine the degree of a program or policy fulfils or does not fulfil the standard. For instance, things needed to be done systematically so that it will not be confusing or messy. On the other hand, unsystematic refers to something done not accordingly to system, plan or method. For example, it might be confusing or messy for the data collected. There are both advantages and disadvantages for both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Moreover, different methods will be used on different occasion and different area. It is believed that quantitative research is more trusted due to people always claim that it is systematic. This raises a question, is qualitative research unsystematic? There are various claims and arguments regarding this issue. Some might support saying that quantitative research is systematic because it is based on numerical data analysed statistically, while qualitative research uses non-numerical data.
U6: Establishing audiences Quantitative: Quantitative research is a form of research where people are asked something with a simple answer that can be quantified afterwards to represent a larger group. This type of research has simpler answers (yes or no) than qualitative which has more complicated answer (such as a paragraph of text) that can not be quantified but tells a lot more information with 1 answer. Quantitative research is quicker and easier to gather result. Quantitative research can be used for things such as seeing how much of the population in the UK like corn flakes. They would do this by making a survey with a simple answers for the person being surveyed to choose from, the people doing the survey would be people chosen at random

It is a description of the operations that will be undertaken in measuring the construct. The authors have operationalized the measure appropriately. For instance, to measure the influenza vaccination coverage, they developed the empirical measure by using self-report (Have you received influenza vaccination in the past year?) then they used nominal measurement (Yes or No). The authors also conceptualized, identified the constructs, identified the indicators, developed the empirical measures clearly.
In their articles the use of statistics was something that was good. When people see numbers it’s a good way to get the people 's attention. People react faster to numbers then when you try to explain it to them. A rhetorical strategy the authors of this paper used were ethos.
Qualitative Research is primarily analytical research. It provides understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and motivations. It gives insights into the problem or helps to change ideas. The typical approach used is county-level panel data in this type of study to estimate several linear crime calculations along with how many people are gun owners. Looking at this type of information provides data, from across countries, states, and metropolitan areas, which seems to provide statistically significant associations.
In order to compare and contrast determinism/incompatibilism and soft determinism/compatibilism, one should probably define them first. Determinism can be defined as whatever happens necessarily, and that every event has a cause. Determinism should be distinguished from fatalism though. Fatalism, is the belief that whatever happens, is a result of fate. Determinism allows for many causes, but it doesn’t permit the single possibility that something happens as a result of no cause, (Daniel).
As quantitative data would not be robust enough to explain complex issues. for e.g. Quantitative data would not allow children to explain their choices. However, qualitative data has some disadvantages in this research. For example, because of the central role played by Corsaro in the generation of data, it is not possible to replicate qualitative studies. Also, contexts, situations, events, conditions, and interactions cannot be replicated to any extent.
Introduction Psychological research and its findings have profound impact on people, relationships, and institutions in our society (Willig, 2013). However, as any other study, psychological researchers are faced with enormous limitations including inappropriate designs or methodologies due inadequacy of professionals (Wang, et al., 2015), geographical differences that impacts on generalizations (Smith, 2015), and time pressure that negatively affects the quality of a research (Punch, et al., 2014). Language barrier and lack of literature or poorly done review are other factors that affect psychological research (Willig, 2013). Limitations Limited number of professionals in the psychological research is one of the key limitations to this field of study. Psychological research depends on observations, experimentation, and evidence, hence the need for critical methodological designs (Shipman, 2014).
It’s a quantitative method that is specifically used in psychology researches and it examines whether two variables such as events, behaviuors, properties, and characteristics are casually related. In other words, it is a scientific and systematic approach to research, in which the researcher can manipulate and control the variables i,e an independent variable is manipulated and the dependent variable is measured and it could be called a true experiment. The main advantage of this method is that it allows us to determine and regulate cause and effect, and further it allows us to control the effects of extraneous variables. Experimental method involves some kind of measurement and a mathematical calculation is frequently involved.
3. QUALITATIVE RESEARCH THEORY 3.1 QUALITATIVE RESEARCH Qualitative research is a form of research in which the researcher collects and interprets data, meaning the researcher is as important in the research process as the participants and the data they provide. Reason and Rowan (2004) have argued that the core element of a qualitative research approach is to connect meanings to the experiences of respondents and their lives. According to Clissett (2008) qualitative research involves a variety of research methods that can be used to explore human experience, perceptions, motivations and behaviours. Qualitative research is characterised by collection and analysis of words in the form of speech or writing.
Methodology In my thesis I utilized the quantitative content analysis method. There are many definitions of this research method from different authors. Most of the definitions include similar principles. The research should be systematical, objective, quantitative and replicable.
Qualitative research method has been widely used to gather data on specific subjects. With in- depth analysis, this method helps the researcher to get greater insights on various phenomena. The major reason why it is usually preferred over other methods is that it not only examines the when, where and what of a decision making process but also the why and how. Debates, interviews and various other researches are the areas where this approach is commonly used. Depending on the requirement of the research, the data gets streamlined once the entire data is obtained and gathered.

In quantitative research, variables are identified and defined, and then relevant data is collected from study participants. A strength of this type of research is that the data is in numeric form, making it easier to interpret. It also studies the relationship between independent and dependent variables and can address questions such as does a relationship between variables exist, what is the direction of the relationship, how strong is the relationship between the variables, and what is the nature of the relationship. To be able to discover and answer the cause-and-effect relationship is a strength of quantitative research. Lastly, in quantitative research, the study can either be experimental or nonexperimental, meaning clinical trial or observational study, allowing for different types of research studies to be conducted.
