When making compost tea it is important to know the percentage of oxygen in the compost tea because it will determine whether the compost tea will go aerobic or anaerobic. Oxygen is an essential source of life for aerobic organisms. As Ingham (2010) explained ,to get an aerated compost tea oxygen’s level should be more than what the organisms consume, in other words, above 6ppm, moreover, this amount of oxygen will provide an environment for aerobes such as Bacillus and pseudomonas which are highly important for soil to thrive. Another important point to mention, to infuse oxygen into compost tea you should use bubblers that provide small air bubbles. As Dearborn (2009), the more compost tea is aerated the more nutrient it will contain, and when we have enough nutrient antibiotics accumulates which in turn give compost tea to acquire a natural defense response that has the ability to suppress pathogens .From this statement we can understand that when you give compost tea enough time to be oxygenated the solution becomes a remedy for soils and plants. Moreover, it is worth to know the brewing time period, since it is a critical key behind making compost tea. When extracted microorganisms from compost get adequate oxygen and food the resulting liquid is almost a miracle, and the result of this solution can be witnessed when it is applied in plant’s roots or leaves. Moreover, Lanthier (2004) explained that compost tea has the ability to fight pathogens, and they become unable to infect plants, since the plant’s leaves already contains beneficial microorganisms (p.2). Moreover, plants uses the nutrients that are available in the solution which help them the fight infections quickly .Then, the richness of this liquid can alter gas concentration positively by enabling stomata to open for long period of time the thing that help plants to produce sugars that are essential for their growth. Furthermore, the soil texture and internal structure is greatly improved, since there are greater amount of oxygen that reaches the root system .This latter helps in stopping soil’s pathogens and toxins from accumulating which obviously means that plants will be healthier (Chalker-Scott, 2009, p.4).This leads to the conclusion that compost tea is a beneficial solution that helps in fighting soil diseases, improving the soil, and promoting plant’s growth.
Compost tea has not only benefits on the level of crop production and plant’s enhancement but it has also a positive impact on the environment as whole. For instance, it has the ability substitute chemical fertilizers
