Driverless vehicles are vehicles that can duplicate how a human drive the car. However, the vehicle has to be programmed with the destination beforehand. In order to function, these driverless vehicles are integrated with specific technology such as the GPS, computer vision, laser and radar. An example of a driverless vehicle is Google’s. There are numerous advantages that these driverless vehicles have to offer which could make roads safer in Singapore. Although Singapore is known for its law abiding citizens and has a high safety standards, studies have shown that Singapore still have a high fatality rate of car accidents and the drivers in Singapore are more dangerous as compared to the drivers in other highly developed countries, for example, the United States, United Kingdom, Japan and Canada. For instance, there are individuals who settle on grievous choice to drink driving and putting other people’s lives in danger. Often, individuals will continue to drive although they are feeling exhausted which may debilitate judgement and lead to an accident.
