This would not seem to be serious problem because your friend didn’t get any punishment as doing such thing and there is no damage to us or others, but if it happens in the more publicized place, it would be crime. Then, what is the information pollution, which combines those two contrasting words. The definition of “information pollution,” in my opinion, is false information that can give huge damage in physical, psychological and financial stuff and image.” For example, the Korean famous entertainer and rocker, Junyeong Jeong, has suffered such problem. His ex-girlfriend charged him as a hidden camera. As the rumor spread, the singer got huge financial damage, lost many fans and temporary withdrew 2 Days & 1 Night, his only TV program. After about 2 weeks, he can clear his false charge, but his loss was enormous. Like this, the “Information Pollution” is a “false” thing, which can probably harm someone in various aspects. Also like in the definition, it can occur in anywhere, so it is not limited to public place; the rumor between friends can be such
Should Schools Monitor Students Social Media!?!? Have you ever showed up at school and had a friend or classmate tell you about a rumor directed towards you? I think schools should monitor students social media posts but, only if there seems to be problems occurring and disrupting the class. Cyberbullying can lead to low self esteem and depression, causing worse things. Document E, document B and, document D all agree with limiting/monitoring students online speech.
Now in days, people especially children or teenagers do not read book much as they used to be and should be. Due to lack of reading, most of children became weak and unknowledgeable against society because lack of reading decreases vocabulary knowledge and weak writing skill. Children now a day uses internet and social media as reliable sources, but they will never learn to think and question themselves. Children will never build a strength to problem solve their own and engage creativity thinking if everyone only and acquire information from internet. Increase use of internet or social media caused us human being to have an entertainment, care, security, and convenience, but at same time they took our ability to be independent.
Humanity is in a perpetual state of trying to make living in the world an easier place. In just a few seconds, people can access information at their disposal, instead of having to look through different books to find what you need. But the question arises; does this boundless place for information honestly make us more informed than before we had the internet? Joe Keohane, the author of the article “How Facts Backfire,” is a political journalist who has also written articles on technology and culture.
Most rumors start with some truth, then, as they are passed from one person to another, people change some of the information or the whole story. Many people, today, are manipulated by others into spreading information about individuals
The Contagious Rumors “I guess rumors are more exciting than the truth. ”-Venus Williams. People spread rumors because they feel that it will interest them more than the truth. In some ways, creating rumors can give people a reason to for them to believe that something is more flared than what the actual truth is.
In any war, a key aspect that helps a certain side to win is if the majority of the people support what they are fighting for. One way that that support can be influenced is through propaganda. Propaganda is a common form of war-time media, and will encourage people to see things a certain way, and even change people’s views. The Civil War was no different to any other war, in that it had a fair amount of propaganda in both the Union and the Confederacy. There were many different types of propaganda used in the Civil War as well, and they all had major effects on the Civil War.
As a young child I learned how information can be corrupted and distorted through a classroom game I use to play called telephone. In the game you would start with a message and try to make it around the room with the same message, and even though this game sounds easy the classroom never made it through with the same message. To me this game represents society and the media on how not everything you see is what it seems. I think that information can easily be corrupted and that it happens in our everyday life. There are several reasons for information to be corrupted for example: to gain power, make someone else look as if they are a lesser being, or to control others with a single message.
In 1988, the Internet was opened to the public. At that time, not many people were aware of what a huge impact the Internet would have on the lives of future generations and cultures. While it was at first widely accepted by many users because of its astonishingly convenient and unlimited access to information, the enthusiasm for the Internet has more recently diminished and even disappeared in some cases. Many people no longer view the Internet as a helpful tool, but more as a harmful weapon, attacking every area of our lives, including education, communication, literacy, attention span, memory, intelligence, relationships, politics, economics, even sleep, diet, and physical activity. The Internet is ultimately affecting and determining the
Bullies are usually stronger and victims are usually perceived as weaker and unable to protect themselves.” (Masterson,1997) Bullying expands in many aspects of everyday life; from schoolchildren and teenagers, to adults , working environments and even spouses and family members. Considering that the first signs of bullying appear among schoolchildren, we should examine it in its infancy, that is, bullying in early years and school life, which in turn becomes with the passage of years violence and in some cases even crime. As far as bullying at school is concerned, “one definition is that a student is being bullied or victimized, when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time , to negative actions on the part of one or more other students.”
This article explains what is bullying exactly. Bullying is any form of psychological, verbal, or physical abuse that occurs repeatedly among schoolchildren over a period. Statistically, the dominant type of violence is emotional and occurs mostly in the classroom and courtyard of schools. Bullying is a kind of torture, methodical and systematic, in which the aggressor sums up the victim, often with silence, indifference or complicity of other comrades. The author explains some characteristic and consequences of bullying.
Technology has made people dependent on it, gullible, and lose verbal skills, which has led to a naïve world. Getting information has never been easier than it is today. People simply need to type into Google what they wish to know, and there is the answer. They now rely on technology to help get information easier. Before technology became what it is today, finding an answer would require research and thinking for oneself.
Human population started to growth steadily because people started to use their knowledge to find cure terminal illnesses. All these development change the human understand about life and this understand opened a different path in human history. Furthermore, humanity can access information at the push of a button after the many technological developments such as internet. After the Age of Enlightenment people started to find information freely and this freedom beat a path to find many other information. In 1983 some scientists build a network, which people calls it internet now, to access information all around the world.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
Bullying is a widespread problem in our schools and communities and has a negative impact on students’ right to learn in a safe and secure environment without fear. It is a process in which one person repeatedly uses his/her superior strength or influence to mistreat, attack or force another person to do something (Van der Werf, 2014). Bullying or peer victimization is now recognized as a complex and pervasive problem (Beran, 2009). It is an ongoing problem that is not restricted by age, race, gender or class. This behavior generally takes one of four forms, physical such as assault, verbal which involves threats or insults, social which entails exclusion or rumor spreading, and cyber which includes aggressive texts or social network posts
Bullying is defined as repeated oppression, physical or psychological of a less powerful individual by a more powerful individual, people or group. It consists of three main types of abuse which are physical, verbal and emotional. Bullying in schools is a common and worldwide spread problem that can have critical and negative implications on the general school climate as well as on the right of students to study in a safe and secure environment without fear. Many people believe that bullying is part of life, happens in all schools and so it’s not an issue to worry about and that it lets individuals know what life is all about as it toughens them but in reality bullying is a detrimental problem that affects most school going children and teenagers physically, emotionally and socially.
