People perceive Germans being a hard language to learn; although, they don’t recognize and see the full picture. Did you know German and English used to be the same language once? According to The German Professor, “Speakers of English benefit from the fact that English and German developed from the very same language roots.” Learning another language can be really infuriating, as Benny Lewis said “Learning another language can be infuriating, particularly as you find yourself committing grammar rules, pronunciations, and a never-ending list of words to memory.” However, German seems like a hard language to master to an abundance of people. What this means in short terms, is making the language easier and simpler to understand and learn. In 1996, German had been officially standardized. Although they have standardized German, some different dialects still exist in other German-speaking countries. According to Goethe-Institut, “...of a “state”, “nation” or “people” being inextricably linked to a particular “language”, a concept that emerged at the same time that dialects were being superseded by standard German.” every German word has one official spelling.
Every German noun has one specific gender. This means German can have multiple dialects, but still be written the same way, and understandable in all German speaking places, but also leads to having the associative, nominative, genitive, and dative cases. The cases help you conjugate sentences and help with sentence structure. This is why so much German poets exist. One other reason I find German is easy to learn, was from the verb patterns. Germans are very honest people. However ,with that being said, there is a stereotype of Germans stating they are rude and angry people, but if anything they’re more honest than rude. Germans are quick to pull you from your mistakes, and Germans are used to pointing out if a westerner is learning their language because an abundance of people are trying to learn it nowadays, and they have a stereotype of being “rude” but typically they’re just more honest than anything. This improves your German by getting corrected your mistakes by a native “prof German” speaker, which means a foreigner that speaks fluent
