In July 2011, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched the Menu Rakyat 1Malaysia (MR1M) .This menu comes out for the breakfast and lunch with the low price such not exceeding RM2 and RM4 for Peninsular Malaysia, and RM 2.50 and RM 5 for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. The objective introduced this menu to help the low to middle income enjoying their breakfast and lunch. It is the initiative to overcomes the rising cost of living in Malaysians. Who want to participate to provides this menu is on the voluntary basis. Mostly it is cooperate with the private restaurants. For example, breakfast menu that cost RM2 consists of breads, egg and Teh Tarik and lunch that cost RM4 is rice, piece of chicken and ice lemon tea.
