"Imagination creates reality." - Richard Wagner Imagine being able to work on interactive floating screens, as seen in the Ironman franchise, or even going back in time, to find yourself completely surrounded by dinosaurs! Advancements in Immersion Technologies, help in fabricating a number of Immersive Virtual Environments- opening up a broad spectrum of possibilities, where one could literally live out and experience their wildest sci-fi fantasies like never before. An Immersive Virtual Environment can be of either one of the two types, i.e., The Virtual Reality Environment or The Augmented Reality Environment. Let us now understand the main difference in between the two. The Virtual Reality Environment (VR), is an immersive environment, where one is ‘transported’ into a whole new, computer-generated world, with no relationship with the real world environment. This is achieved by tricking the brain through our sensory organs, to think that we’ve been ‘teleported’ to the virtual world, which essentially translates into our new ‘reality’. VR was initially developed for The Air Force, for simulating various mid-air manoeuvres and other forms of training (Flight Simulator), to prevent actual million-dollar jets from being used, for the same. The Augmented Reality Environment on the other hand, is augmenting one’s real environment, by adding various computer generated interfaces & models into it. It is often added as an overlay on top of a real world object and is often
VIrtual reality is the most studied virtual platform in the world. Scientists have picked apart this simulated 3D environment piece by piece to uncover its benefits and risks to our society if used. When a virtual reality headset is put on, your brain gets transported to this online environment, when using this head set a large amount of risks follow it. “The immersive environment of virtual reality and augmented reality can be the number one cause of anxiety or stress. Wearing an obstructive headset for only a few minutes can leave you with more than just one health risk.”
Abstract Telehealth refers to health care interactions that leverage telecommunication devices to provide medical care outside the traditional face-to-face, in-person medical encounter. Technology advances and research have expanded use of telehealth in health care delivery. Physical medicine and rehabilitation providers may use telehealth to deliver care to populations with neurologic and musculoskeletal conditions, commonly treated in both acute care and outpatient settings. Patients with impaired mobility and those living in locations with reduced access to care may particularly benefit. Video-teleconferencing has been shown to be effective for management of burn patients during acute rehabilitation, including reduced health care use expenses and less disruptions
One of the issues with virtual reality is that expectations have been overset massively with TV shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation, which promised an artificial reality indistinguishable from reality. VR failed. It didn 't have to -- there is a pattern to bringing out successful technology that is repeatable. You create a complete experience regardless of cost, then cost-reduce it. That way, you have a model for where you need to go.
In the final analysis, police should be required to wear body cameras. Once they wear the camera it ensures accountability in the community, provides visual evidence in court and prevents violence. Everyone in communities have encounters with police whether it be criminal related or not. These cameras make the bond between civilians and officers much more stronger which will be a benefit to everyone. A way you could help is to get your community aware about these new devices and encourage that the use of them will help and be beneficial.
In spite of the indifference, Virtual Reality has awoken the world in giant ways. Society should not stay doubtful of the countless possibilities it has to bring in an optimistic and technological way. Recently, in order to describe something that holds spirit and effect without having form, but having an effect on the actual, the word ‘virtual’ was used. Virtual reality is developing all the time and has found hitches not formerly considered. Applications of Virtual reality are starting to find their way into normal society.
This shows that the colonizers would do whatever it took including taking over the people and using them as `near slaves ' for their own personal benefits. The results of this madness and greed can be best shown through “Fill full the mouth of Famine And bid-- / the sickness cease; And when your goal is nearest-- / The end for others sought,” The pros of imperialism, was that it had the tendency for a State to expand its territory and rule over larger areas is natural. The poem ‘white man’s burden’ relates to our generation in many ways. The movie “Avatar” was produced into ‘The White Messiah fable.’
Link to Audience/Motivation to Listen: There are only a few ways to interact with our computer devices be it touch, keyboard or mouse. But soon enough we are going to require none of these and interact with anything or everything in our own virtual space. IV. Thesis Statement: Mixed reality is the future of computers. V. Preview of Main Points:
What is augmented reality? It is a type of virtual reality which augments or supplements the physical environment with additional information generated by computers or in other worlds to bring the virtual world to the real one and combine them. The aim of augmented reality is to develop an experience where we cannot make a distinguish between the physical world and the virtual world.” Today’s world is an interactive one in which technology is used to discover and share information, and research is no longer limited to books and databases.” [1]So instead” augmented reality apps can help librarians answer reference questions, assist in instruction, and create a more interactive learning environment.
Virtual reality is the computer-simulated three-dimensional virtual images, gives user an experience like in a real world [8], the scene will change simultaneous when moving the head and the body, by using the controller or eye point, user can have interaction with the virtual world. Virtual reality system should contain three basic features, immersion-interaction-imagination [9]. Immersion means the simulated environment is so vivid just the same as reality, user can hardly distinguish or even cannot differentiate virtual reality and reality, and all the control in this environment is just as natural as in the real world. Interaction means user is able to interact everything in the virtual environment, and the virtual environment can give feedback based on that, imagination simply means it can simulate all the possible and impossible scenes, such as see through a human body to observe the internal organs and blood vessel or have an adventure to the Mars which is beyond what human can achieve. Those features indicate that in the future human will hold the leading position in the VR system.

Virtual Reality its use in education, culture and the Impact on Society Abstract The aims and objectives, of this paper, are to discuss Virtual reality (VR), and its profound usage within educational systems. It will be supported by different research evidence which speak to the application of such. It is underscored by literature reviews and intends to enumerate the potential advantages of implementation within the Caribbean.
In this essay I will discuss how visual media is more important than audio media. I will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of visual media, visual media in relation to communication, social media and music. I will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of audio media, and audio in relation to communication, social media and music. Visual Media is huge in modern day society. The Modern world has become more visualized in every aspect due to the high influence in media.
More specifically it is a tool that can change the landscape of manufacturing. Augmented reality is a technology that overlays a computer produced image on a
Virtual Reality is becoming very popular nowadays, however very few people actually know what it exactly is. This report presents general and technical information about virtual reality, its evolution and applications of this technology. It also provides sample pictures of machines, gadgets and virtual reality technologies. 1. INTRODUCTION Virtual Reality is three-dimensional environment projection, generated by a computer, which a person using special technology can explore and interact with.
Virtual Reality is the buzz around these days. A very common question these days is "What is Virtual Reality?" Virtual Reality also known as VR is a three-dimensional computer generated environment experience in which the user can interact with the surroundings. This interaction is known as "telepresence" and it is this interaction that makes it unique. In other words, it is an environment created with special electronic equipment, which a user feels he is a part of without actually being there.
