Traditinal methods are very easy to construct and very cost effective irrespective of modern methods even though many of traditional water harvesting methods cannot be implemented in urban areas but they are best suited for rural areas. Traditional methods of water harvesting can become more effective if scientific attempts are combine. Nothing is better than something Government should provide funding and facilitate them and encourage Traditional methods in their restricted domain. For example bamboo irrigation and drip irrigation have same use that is irrigating soil drop by drop hence increasing the moisture in soil around its roots.
