For example in my family at Christmas dinner 2 of my family members got into a deep political argument and got very mad at each other. As more people started joining in on the conversation my family soon became divided because of politics. As a result of this fighting, I didn’t see the other side of my family for another year. My family was very divided and they refused to see each other, so we started to realize how stupid this argument is and realized that we would have to solve the problem with our other family members. Both sides of my family then simply accepted each other for their different political opinions but loved each other because they were family, and because of who they were and not their political differences. We were then united and were close than ever, and started seeing each other more often and nothing could then split us apart. My family is now less likely to split up because we have been united through the adversity of hating each other. We are now closer than ever, and realizing how stupid this argument was helped us realize that you shouldn’t judge someone based on their opinions, but on who they are as a person. This new wisdom we gained helped us come together stronger as a family and treat each other more respectfully. If you are ever going through tough times with your family, just remember

As a society, we often admire those who take their obstacles and use them to create a better life.
Horace, an ancient Roman poet from around 50 BC (Coolidge 90), is quoted on saying “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” Now while Horace was very intelligent, and this quote seems to be correct, there are also numerous occasions in which adversity has brought about the inverse reaction. Throughout history, adversity has repeated both of the effects many times, such as: in Horace’s life, the biblical story of Joseph, the War of 1812, during the Great Depression and throughout World War II.
Kevin Conroy once said “Everyone is handed adversity in life. No one’s journey is easy. It’s how they handle it that makes people unique.” What Kevin means by this quote is that people will go through bad times, but it is how one handles the bad times. However, depending on family causes one to focus more attention on oneself because they celebrate more about their survival than your own. By doing so, she draws attention to herself and puts her own life in danger for the sake of someone else who might not even have a chance of survival. Also, some people think that the best way to deal with a war conflict is to restore normalcy. However, when things aren't routine, it feels like the problem is being pushed away when one believes in a sense of normalcy.
