Pollution is a global concern because of the effects on human being’s health and on the environment in which we live. Environmental pollution comes in various forms, one such form is air pollution.
According to World Health Organization, air pollution is contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by any chemical, physical or biological agent that modifies the natural characteristics of the atmosphere. These has led to hospitalization, chronic breathing problems and chronic diseases. Air pollution has become an increasing problem in my community and my country (St. Vincent) on a whole. This written assignment identifies main air pollutants and the plausible causes of air pollution and the skills or interests that could be applied to helping improve air quality in my community.
Our main air pollutions come under two broad categories the outdoor which includes (transportation, factories and agriculture products) while we have the indoor which includes (paints that we use on our houses, cleaning agents we use to clean the house, dust, pet hairs, tobacco smoking and the smoke from our kitchen).
For outdoor, one of our major problems comes from our transportation system that we used every day to get to work, school and travelling etc. Pollution emitting from vehicles including trucks, jeeps, cars, trains, airplanes which cause immense amount of pollution. There overuse is dangerous to our environment. These vehicles, produce significant amounts of nitrogen oxides, carbon
While we are researching our project, we are trying to find ways of improving air pollution. As I have already stated this will not be an issue that is going to be immediately solved. It is a problem that will take lots of research and time but we are informing a future generation that can help solve this problem. It will help our health, especially in larger cities, by clearing the pollution allowing us to breath fresh air. Additionally, it will help people with asthma allowing them to breathe easier.
Combining the Rhetorical Modes Pollution occurs in the world naturally as well by the hand of humans. Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. For example, when a cow passes gas a large amount of methane gas is released into the atmosphere. Methane is twenty one times more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide, this results in the global temperature increasing. Humans contribute to pollution as well, for example, a person drives to work everyday in a car that runs on gas, the gas burning in his engine causes carbon monoxide to be released, increasing the global temperature.
In 1910 550 million tons of coal was being mined each year… ”Burning coal in such large quantities without much regard to filtering the smoke emitted into the air resulted in significant air pollution.” The Business owners were making the workers burn so much coal that the workers got all types of lung diseases just by breathing in all the fumes. The pollution from the smoke was also so bad that you could see the smog floating over industrial towns. Another example of pollutions is, “pollution of waterways that border cities.
Every year, Southern Californians guzzle gallons of fossil fuel. As a result, air pollution is still extremely high. With such little education about the issue, people are unaware about how many pollutants they are emitting. However, Southern California and its population could do much better in against taking action air pollution, and strengthen their current activities. Everyone can make a difference in this issue.
Air pollutions rapid increase is not without our help, many causes and sources of this problem are attributed to
Air pollution pervasively impacts humanity as a global society. It results in minimized quality of life and initiates instability within the environment . Air pollution causes extensive detrimental health effects on the residents of Southern California, especially on select sensitive individuals, and has significant adverse impacts on the environment of Southern California. The health of individuals residing within the boundaries of Southern California is steadily tarnished by the destructive qualities of polluted air. The effects of air pollution on the human body over a relatively minimal amount of time are unlikely to have major effects on youthful and healthful individuals.
For this situation, people have a broad contribution to excessively polluted air since we emanate such outrageous levels of toxins that cause significant issues, for example, environmental change and ozone exhaustion. Because of our un human ways, the harmful air toxins, chemicals that shape corrosive rain and ground-level ozone has harmed trees, crops, natural life, lakes and different regions of water in Blacktown. Our transportation advances more than half of the carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, and very nearly a quarter of the hydrocarbons released into our air. The human race has become capable of affecting Blacktown and the atmosphere that borders the Earth. Everyday in our neighbourhood, air contamination keeps us from going to work and school as it develops a large number of sicknesses through
Contaminated air in the U.S. threatens Americans’ lives. Over several decades, our air has improved. However, the air is still harmful to everyone. Pollution from factories that use coal are a major cause of air pollution. One of the most dangerous issues with air pollution is dust and soot.
1. Introduction Air pollutin is a public health concern and it has been since the discovery of fire. Incidents and episodes of air pollution have been recorded throughout the history. Air pollution is divided into two, it is the indoor air pollution and the outdoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is produced in households or at offices by pollutants such as tobacco smoke, household products or pesticides.

Castil, Czarina Beata N.11-HA1 Informative Speech Outline Topic: Air pollution Specific Purpose: I will inform where air pollution takes place, how it affects us economically and how we can help keep the air cleaner. I. Introduction a. Attention Material: Breathe in. Now, breathe out.
CHAPTER 1 1. INTRODUCTION The air we respire contains mixture of natural and man-made chemical, physical and biological elements that modifies ambient air quality. Among all air pollutants, the most threatening for human health include particulate matter and gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide (WHO). The movement of people into urban areas and the growth of industry within these areas has carried more people into contact with air pollution than any other time in recent memory.
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
• Pollution: Pollution of air, water and soil require millions of years to recoup. Industry and motor vehicles exhaust are the number one pollutants. Heavy Metals, nitrates and plastic are toxins for pollution. While water pollution is caused by oil spill, acid rain, urban runoff; air pollution is caused by various gases and toxins
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
