30% of deaths related to fires are from cigarettes in the United States. Although, Iit is 10% throughout the world. Smoking not only creates a disastrous environment, but it also has a bad influence on children
Although many people assume that health issues can only affect smokers, that is completely false. Smoking has many of the same effects on nonsmokers as it does on nonsmokers. “In 2004, children accounted for 31% of the 600 000 premature deaths attributable to secondhand smoke.” (“Why Is Smoking an Issue”) “Secondhand smoke is known to cause cancer. It has more than 7,000 chemicals, including at least 70 that can cause cancer. SHS causes lung cancer – even in people who have never smoked.” (“Health Risks”) “In adults, second-hand smoke causes serious cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, including coronary heart disease and lung cancer.
Why does Mexico have such a strong pollution rate? Mexico is surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is also 2,240 meters above sea level, this causes Mexico to have less oxygen, this causes pollution to increase rapidly. Diesel fuels do not burn in the correct form in this altitude, which causes high amounts of black carbon. This investigation will aim to test the effects of air pollution on endangered specie populations in Mexico, this is a very serious global issue since many of the beloved animals that are living in our world are despairing due to human mistakes and carelessness. To test air pollution Research Question: What is the effect of air pollution on endangered species population in Mexico?
Fossil fuels have for decades been a main source of energy for the United States, However such nonrenewable energy has managed to decimate the environment by weakening the ozone and increase global temperatures. The issue at hand is that these fuels are at the foundation of the U.S. economy and removing them would ruin countless businesses and leave thousands, if not millions, jobless as well as harm U.S. infrastructure. Altogether they are tightly integrated in society and have proven difficult to remove. Although some argue that it is unrealistic to expect corporations to end the burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of benefiting the environment, such corporations should be legally penalized because temperatures are rapidly rising and
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
One of the most dangerous issues with air pollution is dust and soot. “African-Americans are about three times as likely to die from exposure to it” than the general population (Stein). Polluted air can destroy the ozone layer that protects us from the sun. The solution is applying and enforcing government regulations on pollution. I find it ironic that the air that you breathe in order to live can kill you.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Over 10 people die from smoking every minute. Some people think it 's okay to smoke, they also think I doesn’t hurt them. But smoking is one of the main deaths in the U.S. Even though people know that smoking is not good for your health. There are so many people that die from smoking, the stuff inside cigarettes are the things that get you addicted and kills you, and it affects you body in so many ways.
(Jordan 1). Secondly not only does it affect smokers but even people who don 't even partake in the activity of smoking cigarettes. Second hand smoke is a serious issue and can cause cancer almost easy as being an actual smoker can. Stanford University had released a study that shows that secondhand smoke exposure levels are very close to the amount of cancerous smoke active smokers are affected by. According to a 1997 California EPA Report on Secondhand Smoke 53,800 people die every year from secondhand smoke exposure.
“Approximately 100 million deaths were caused by tobacco use in the 20th century” (Hayashi, 2012, p.1). This is surely a sad and unfortunate fact that shows the severe effects of smoking which gradually lead to losing one’s life. Unfortunately, many people made, and are still making the mistake of ‘trying’ the magical ‘cigarette’; the result, however, is disastrous in most cases. Their first trial leads to another then suddenly, before they even know it, they become addicted. There are lots of cons associated with the act of smoking, as this worldwide issue has many effects on health, behavior, relationships and financial status.
