For our family feud assignment, we had the option to choose out of 10 people that had a feud with someone. I decided to choose Al Capone and Bugs Moran. Yes they aren’t family, but it was a very big feud that did happen in the past. I decided to choose Al Capone and Bugs Moran because I thought that their feud was very interesting. In the next three paragraphs I will explain the cause, the outcome, and who was affected during their feud.
First, the cause of their feud was because of the two gangs, that split Chicago in half, were bootlegging and selling illegal liquor to the public. The two were trying to out due each other and trying to get more power, that it cause damage to Chicago and the people involved. It got so out of hand that they started fighting. Moran would continuously call Capone, “Scarface” and “Grease Ball” to the press. He would go and do drive by shootings at Capone’s cars and businesses. Then to top it all off they both had each other’s buildings that they owned burned to the ground. Moran was so brutal that he captured Capone’s men and tortured them before killing them. Valentine’s Day Massacre. The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre was described as one of the most bloodiest killings in Chicago history. This occurred on February 14, 1229, at 10 o’clock in the morning, when five of Moran’s people and two more that were tied with the gang were in Lincoln Park where they were lined up by two of Al Capone’s men that were dressed like police to trick them. Then the seven of Moran’s men were shot over 200 times by Tommy guns. A couple of them were almost in half because of all of the shots. The police had arrived and it was reported that it was the goriest murder that those police had ever seen, it was also a shock to the news as well.
