Al Capone Al Capone was a famous gangster, he was known for many of the crimes he committed. Capone was born in Brooklyn in 1899, he was the son of two Italian immigrants. Capone was known to have a short temper and to be violent. Capone showed this violence such as when he was in the sixth grade; Capone was hit by teacher and he reacted by striking his teacher back, after that Capone never went back to school. Moran was now trying to kill Capone's hit man Jack MgGurn who was also known as "Machine Gun" Jack MgGurn. Capone and MgGurn decided to take action by trying to kill Moran on February 14, 1929, MgGurn's gunmen were dressed up as policemen and they killed seven of Moran's men, but not Moran who managed to escape because he was told of the danger before they got to the garage where the shoot out happened. This event came to be known as the "St. Valentine's Day Massacre." After the massacre Capone was named "Public Enemy Number One." Due to the massacre it caused the federal government to make their efforts greater to try and put Capone behind bars. On June 5, 1931 they finally achieved it, Capone was guilty of 22 counts of income-tax evasion. Capone tried to escape jail time by trying to bribe and intimidate the jury, but during the last moment the judge switched the jury to an entirely new one. In the end Capone was found guilty and sent to prison for eleven years. Capone was first sent to Atlanta to a federal prison, but was caught bribing the guards so he was sent to famous prison of Alcatraz. After six and a half years of prison Capone was sent to a mental hospital. It turned out that Capone had suffered from syphilis and later it was neurosyphilis, which is a cause of dementia. He was in the mental hospital for about three years, and he spent his last days in Miami, Florida with his wife. Al Capone died of cardiac arrest on January 25,

Bugs Moran was a notorious Mobster that came to be single head of his gang when the tragic death of his leaders and co-leaders, he was in a bloody war with Al Capone and his South Side Gang, and he was the target of the St. Valentine’s Day massacre that Al Capone had set up for him. Al Capone also known as Scarface was a 1920’s mob boss in the city of Chicago, Illinois. He came from a family of Italian immigrants and he was raised in New York City. Capone was part of a gang in New York until he got a invitation from Tarrio in 1920 to come to Chicago and join his mafia. But in 1925 Tarrio was almost killed in a shootout with a rival gang so he steps down from mob boss and hands the mafia to Capone. Once Al became the boss he started to sell whiskey which at the time was illegal because of Prohibition.
He murdered his first victim at twenty and in order to escape charges he fled to Chicago where he quickly found one of the most notorious gangs, 5 Points Gang. He with his charm, clever speaking skills, and obedience to the leader he quickly moved up the ranks until he was Johnny Torrito’s (the gang's leader) right hand man. Johnny however had to flee the country and Al took the opportunity naming himself leader. He quickly became the number one in bootleg operations of Chicago, while wiping out any rival providers. These rival gangs however were not pleased with Capone’s success and did all they could in attempts to wipe him out, among the attempts were poisoning and machine gun ambushes, none of which seemed to work.
Al Capone is a villain because he was a gangster in a gang that participated in organized crime in the United States. Al Capone had started to joining gangs when he was fourteen years old he joined the Forty Young Thieves. Crime in the U.S was not his first rodeo. He started by being a bouncer and a bartender at the Harvard Inn. Later joined a Torrio gang and started helping them with bootlegging in the city and making money.
He started his criminal career as a member of the "Five Points Gang", and later became the boss of the "Chicago Outfit", who made their money through gambling, prostitution, and bootlegging. Al Capone was famous for his corruption, his ability to evade law enforcement, and his violent tactics and murders. He is believed to be responsible for the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, as well as over 200 murders. After many years of crime, he was convicted in 1931 on charges of tax evasion and sentenced to 11 years, and after being released he died in 1947 of syphilis. During Al Capone's life, the United States was slowly recovering from World War I, and Prohibition had become a significant topic within the country.
(It was different rules in the different states, for carrying a weapon). He got feed for the crime. In 1931 Capone was indicted for income tax fraud (not pay taxes for what you earn). Capone made a deal with the judge, the deal included that he only were gone sit in jail for two and a half years, but the judge didn't agreed in the deal.
He killed two men, but no one ever said they heard or saw it, so Capone never got tried in court. He kept up his violence by, beating up a rival gang member and sending him to the hospital. After sending him to the hospital the police looked for someone with his description, so Yale sent him to Chicago to wait till things settled down there in Brooklyn ("History Files - Al Capone, 1999"). Yale didn't just send him there to have nothing to do. Once Capone got to Chicago he helped with a big brothel business.

Capone was one of both the smartest, and most violent criminal that Chicago, or even the entire country has ever seen. American Decades writes, “During the roaring twenties Capone controlled a multi-million dollar crime organization in Chicago. He gained national recognition for his ruthless business skills and casual use of violence to build his criminal empire.” (“Al Capone” American Decades, 1) Due to his finely tuned skills for running crime, most likely inherited from his mentor Torrio, Capone was able to rise to unbelievable fame.
Al capone did not only do violent crimes but he helped the people around him by setting up a soup kittchen during depression and a city wide program to give free milk to schools kids. In 1939 he was found guilty of tax evasion and was jailed for eight years. while in jail prohibiton ended and grew ill from syphilis. Al capone was released in 1939 and moved to florida. On january 25, 1947 Al capone died.
According to the History Channel website, Capone was even in a gang as a child. It says in the article” Capone belonged to a street gang as a boy and dropped out of school in sixth grade, later joining the Five Points Gang in Manhattan and working as a bouncer and bartender at the Harvard Inn, a Coney Island bar owned by mobster Frankie Yale. ”Although, when Al went to jail he was only convicted of tax fraud. Al Capone, Chicago gangster, killed many people and was never caught for his mob crimes, but he went to the most maximum security prison in the United States for tax evasion. Al Capone started getting involved with criminal activitiess at a young age and got into a gang activity. Al Capone started doing bad stuff when he was young but it wasn’t very large compared to what he would do as a adult.. And-not supposed to start sentence with and he was also involved with some gang activity (MacNee, 1998). What did Al Capone started doing at a young age?
Al Capone was one of the most notorious gangsters of the first half of the 20th century. Based mainly in Chicago, Capone made hundreds of millions of dollars in various illegal businesses such as bootlegging, gambling, prostitution, racketeering, and various other mob activities. Although also a philanthropist, Capone was a ruthless killer who believed in eliminating his competition. A true understanding of this crime czar’s career can be gained from studying his beginnings after sixth grade in New York, his relocation to Chicago, the growth of his empire, his arrests, and prison time, and his deathbed in Florida. Beginnings Mr. Capone started his career in violence at a very young age.
Al Capone was known as the nation’s most famous mobster. Al Capone murdered numerous people in his career. Capone’s increase in criminal activity began in Chicago and his actions eventually spread out through the United States. Al Capone was born on January 17th, 1889 in Brooklyn, New York City.
He started his bootleg business very young, he started to build up his business to become more successful This did cause some of his men to die or get injured very bad. Al Capone and his men did not cooperate with the police. But they did not care Al Capone was the best man there was in there eyes. They also did not want to get on his bad side. If they did they were destined to die.
